The bright points: excellent location (in a great neighborhood), really comfortable bed, comfortable couch, and strong internet connection.
However for the price point (and compared to prior rentals in NYC) I wish:
1. It was clearly advertised that there was NO kitchen sink in this apartment. I could not make myself use the bathroom sink for food stuff and so this became in effect like a hotel room without benefit of amenities. For this alone, I don't think it was worth the cost and I'd have done better at a fairly decent hotel in NYC, for my travel dates.
2. At this price point, amenities like liquid bath soap, bath mat would have been a nice touch for this traveler. (The towels and bottle of water were appreciated.)
I appreciate Jona's flexibility with check-in and checkout in her Fort Greene studio.
Jona's spot was in a perfect location, surrounded bar coffee shops, grocery stores, bars, restaurants, etc. It is also 30 feet from two subway entrances. The place was described accurately in her description. Getting the keys was a little difficult as Jona was out of town, but she was very responsive in helping us figure it out. She provided my fiancé and I with one towel each, and clean linens. Overall, we had a great time! I would recommend this spot for a single or couple looking to experience some Brooklyn culture.
The place was as described and in a wonderful location. As other reviewers have noted it is remarkably small, almost two small for my girlfriend and I together. The fridge was quite noisy and made a loud rattling sound, and because it's basically at the foot of the bed we had to turn it off in order to get to sleep, which also meant we couldn't store any cold food. It also would have been easier if there had been two sets of keys available so that my girlfriend and I could go out separately without needing to coordinate how we got home. Overall it wasn't the most comfortable stay.
Jona's home was delightful and perfect for our weekend staying in Brooklyn. The neighborhood is ideal with tons of restaurants and bars nearby, as well as plentiful access to trains to get into the city. Jona was very responsive, and getting into the place was just as simple as she described. The TV was hooked up to the internet, so any movie watching was easy and simple to do!
Jona herself was extremely responsive and easy to work with. I'd highly recommend staying here!
The location if perfect. If you are out and about exploring NYC you will not mind that this is little more than a sweet place to rest your head at the end of the day. There isn't space to do any real cooking and the only sink is in the bathroom. The place was neat and tidy but not very clean. Jona was very accommodating in getting the keys to me.
Perfect location, charming neighborhood, and adorable flat. Exactly as advertised! Loved staying here!
Jona was a great host, answered all my questions and made everything easy. She's got a great little space, quiet and cozy and lots of light. There is so much to do within blocks of her place, great restaurants and a lovely park, but if you have to leave Fort Green there are subway lines within a couple of blocks.
Fort Greene is one of the most charming neighborhood in South Brooklyn. It was nice to stay in a place right at the center of it and so close to transportation. This is a small studio space and felt perfect for the two of us.
Jona was very quick in replying and everything worked out. We chose the appartment mainly because it was so close to BAM. The neighbourhood is safe and friendly, lots of good restaurants and subway stations close by. While the place is really small it is rightly advertised as cozy and convenient.
The apt was very convenient to the C & G subway. Jona was welcoming. There was a bit of a lag in her confirmation and she also mixed up which weekend I was coming, but we sorted it out. The apartment was neat and cute, but tiny. It was acceptable for one person, not for 2. There were no places to hang clothes or to unpack belongings, other than on the floor or sofa. The only sink was in the bathroom. As it was a warm September weekend, the windows had to be open and it was noisy outside. No fan or AC was available. On the first night, I couldn't even find a top sheet to use, rather than a hot comforter. Jona told me where the sheets were for the second night. They were all packed away wet. The bed was a bit high for a 5 foot person to step up into -- it could have used a step stool. I would not stay here again for the money even though the location was perfect for visiting my son in Ft Greene and getting into Manhattan.
Jona and I are college friends. I lived with her after college and rented a room in her condo. She is sweet, tidy, accommodating, super-stylish, and she knew the best places to go in the city.
