We stayed at Manjari’s place at the beginning of June. Although we didn’t get to meet Manjari in person, she was quick to respond throughout our correspondence. Instead, we were met at the property by Melinda, who was super-friendly and provided us with lots of excellent local tips.
The apartment itself is in a great location – five minutes to the nearest subway; ten minutes to Central Park and 15 minutes on the subway to Times Square. Although it’s situated right next to the ramp coming off the Queensboro Bridge, we didn’t have any trouble sleeping, with the windows closed. The neighbourhood feels safe and the street becomes tree lined and very chi chi, the closer you get to Central Park.
The apartment is a good size for two people and is on the second floor of a walk up. There isn’t a huge amount of natural light but I assume that’s fairly common in the City. The bed is comfortable and the only noise we heard from anyone else in the building was creaking floorboards above.
The bathroom is clean and compact, with good shower pressure. Toiletries and towels are supplied. There isn’t any live TV, which takes a bit of getting used to if you like having the news/weather on in the background but, there’s plenty of free, on-demand TV and films.
The kitchen comes with fridge/freezer, dishwasher and cooker. There’s no washing machine but there’s a Laundromat just around the corner. Only tiny issue for us was the lack of toaster and kettle (essential items for Brits abroad!).
This was our first experience on Airbnb and all-in-all, we were very pleased with our choice.
We had an amazing time staying at Manjari's place. Our main contact, Melinda, provided us with plenty of places to visit and many things to do as well. The bed was very comfortable, and the area is nice and quiet, with very easy access to the subways. I would definitely recommend this location for anyone looking for a nice place to stay in NYC
Great communication with Manjari, she provided with a detailed list of recommendations and the upper east side location was very convenient and close to many subway lines. There is a 24 hour convenience store right on the corner and the apartment is within walking distance of many shops and NYC tourist spots. The apartment is exactly as pictured and Melinda, our main contact for check in was very helpful and also provided us with a list of things to do during our stay in NYC. Apartment was immaculate, bed is very comfy, tv has a roku box for easy streaming, and towels were soft and clean. Only downside may be the occasional loud traffic on the Queensboro bridge (sometimes loud continuous honking in the morning) but other than that, the windows block out most of the street noise and AC allows you to keep the windows closed.
I had a great time at New York City. The apartment is clean, cute and convenient! The hostess was incredibly helpful and friendly. She even wrote down a lot of good places for me to visit.
We had a wonderful stay at Manjari's apartment. The location is fantastic and very convenient if you want experience the best of New York.
Everything went out perfect! Very nice place and very comfortable to stay. The subway, supermarket and all you need is near. The only problem (just to mention something) was that the is no elevator and I had quite some luggage so it was quite difficult to take it upstairs. Besides that I had a great experience! I felt I was going home everyday.
We loved this place. Perfect location, clean, and quieter than we expected, given that it is next to the Queensboro Bridge. Also larger than expected, this is really a decent-sized apartment by Manhattan standards, perfect for a couple or small family. Nice hot shower with good water pressure. Very comfortable bed. Manjari was a great host, and accommodating of our late check-in. We hope to stay here again in the future.
Great stay- we would highly recommend Manjari's apartment. The place is just like the photos- clean, tidy and spacious with almost everything you could need- the only thing we missed was a kettle and toaster, but this didn't cause any real hassle. It was a real bonus to have a hair-dryer, wifi, and a good TV system.
Location is brilliant- 5- 10 min walk to central park, 5th Avenue. There is a big supermarket, geat comedy club, and lots more within a minute or two walk as well. The subway is a 5 min walk which makes getting around really easy. We also found that, if you were in the mood for a bit of a wander, you can easily get to times square, grand central station and lots more within a half hour.
We had a slight issue with check-in times, but this was sorted out for us by Manjari really well. Thanks for a great stay!
I have been to Manjari's apartment many times over the six years that I have known her and have always found it to be clean and very well kept. She is an extremely conscientious host and very trustworthy indeed.
I have known Manjari for over 4 years and having stayed in her apartment a few times, I can attest that she is a wonderful host. Her apartment is always well-kept and clean. It's also in a great location in Midtown and close to many restaurants. Felice 64 is a great little Italian/wine bar that is about a block away from the apartment - definitely check it out.
