I'm originally from the London, UK and now live in Fremantle, Western Australia.
I run a business making high-end furniture (mostly kitchen bench tops) from fibre-reinforced polished concrete. It's a great job, creative and physical and means I get to travel around a bit as it's quite a niche market. My background is in architectural design; I used to run a design business in London specialising in heritage apartment conversions.
I'm quite heavily involved with the local sea rescue group in Fremantle, which keeps me occupied as it's one of the busiest groups in the country. I'm also a commercially qualified boat skipper, so I sometimes drive charter boats at the weekend. I spend a lot of time on the water, which is mostly the reason I moved to Australia. When I'm not playing around or working on boats I'm generally at the beach with the dog (a kelpie, not the one shown in the picture) or in a cafe drinking a long mac. I'm partial to good movies and decent food... but then who isn't, and although I'm a terrible dancer I'm not too old for a night out every so often. Cheers!
