I'm an early 60 something, recently taken early retirement, so putting my house on AirBNB will allow me to spend more time travelling to visit family and friends.
I retired from a local university which is just over a mile from my home. I am a big Doctor Who fan as well as old British comedies which we get on our local public broadcasting station. I love to buy local products and we have some great restaurants that only serve locally grown food. Asheville is a wonderful place to live, great music, art and a very relaxed atmosphere.
One of my recent comments to a friend visiting from England, was that flip-flop shoes are considered fancy dress in Asheville. However with that said we have some really wonderful upscale restaurants and cultural events. For instance the Biltmore House and The Grove Park Inn are beautiful examples of posh living in bygone days.
I am very laid back myself and when I travel I am in it for the experience so whatever happens, rain or shine I am on holiday with a big smile on my face. I want to experience all of the local culture and foods. I never had a "cream tea" before my first trip to the UK and wow, I love it along with pasties and real fish n chips. I recenlty visted Ireland and stayed in some lovely B&B's and guesthouses which is what gave me the idea to exchange my home or put it up for vacation rental.
I practice Yoga and meditation on a regular basis, I am an avid blogger and work part-time as a Social Media Manager and I love macro photography.
