Everything you could hope for and more: great location, accommodations, and host.
Barbara has by far been one of my favorite hosts! I knew it the moment I met her at the apartment. Why, you ask? Because I had just completed a crazy road trip from Seattle to Chicago, enduring unexpected delays from national park closures and beating a snow storm by just one day. On the night I arrived in Chicago, I drove through a crazy thunderstorm that had me gripping my steering wheel tightly. Upon arrival Barbara welcomed me with a hug and brought food for me so I wouldn't have to go back out into the elements for dinner. With that I can honestly say, she pretty much had me at "hello."
Her apartment was spacious and exceeded my expectations. It was very clean and tastefully decorated. It's also located within the middle of everything. Less than a mile from Trader Joe's, Jewel Osco and Wholefoods for groceries. Close to Lakeview, Wrigleyville and Boystown neighborhoods as well as several good places to hang socially. Easy walking to Lincoln Avenue, Southport and other great streets lined with both local and national shops, boutiques, restaurants, cafes, bars and more. Also within 2 block radius of the Addison Red line station (easy access to downtown), and the Southport brown line station (easy access to Second City comedy club and more). I very rarely got in my car. Most of the time I walked, bikes, took the bus or the train.
Barbara gave me so many great recommendations on what to do while I was in Chicago. We also made it a point to get together while I was in town. We went out for lunch downtown near her job, and also went out for tapas and sangria at one of her favorite restaurants.
I feel like I've made a friend for life and look forward to seeing her again. Seriously folks, if you want the most ideal apartment for your stay in Chicago, where the Windy City is literally at your finger tips, this is it.

Barbara was a fantastic host, her apt was very clean and was exactly as described on air bnb! I would recommend Barbara's apt to anyone visiting Chicago!
Barbara was great. She met us early because of our flight. The apt is in an ideal location. I would stay again in a second.
The place was perfect for what we needed, Barbara's communication was great, she is thoughtful, thorough, and super nice. A great experience all around.
As a former Chicago resident, I can say this apartment is in a perfect location between the fun and lively neighborhood of Wrigleyville and the upscale, foodie favorite Southport. It is also walking distance to both the Red and Brown line L stations and the Clark St. bus so the entire city is easily accessible. The one bedroom is neat and clean and the owner is a gracious and helpful host. I would definitely rent this same place again for a trip to Chicago.
This was my first time visiting Chicago with friends and let me tell you how amazing of an hostess Barbara was! Not only was she communicating with me throughout my trip to the place she let me use her utensils and whatever leftover food and towels she had at the place. Barbara also provided WIFI capabilities and gave me good restaurants and places to where I should go eat at. She really helped make the trip that much more enjoyable and I only wish all hosts/hostesses are as awesome as her!
Barbara was a fantastic host and was more than willing to accomodate our schedule and late check-out. Her apartment was immaculate and had all of the accoutrements that we could have needed. The apartment is conveniently located only a few leafy blocks from Wrigley Field, but tucked far enough away that the game day traffic wasn't a nuisance. All in all it was a great experience and was a perfect fit for our needs.
Barbara is an epic host! She was very nice and responsive and flexible with the arrival schedule. She notified me ahead of time that the cable/internet had been shut off for June, and despite my not caring because I wasn't planning on spending TOO much time there, she even threw in a case of beers to make up for it. Barbara met with us, provided residential guest parking passes for the days I stayed, and I lucked out on a parking spot a block away for the entire weekend. She showed us the apartment and offered information about the local fare, entertained any questions and left us with the keys. You won't need your car. The apt is beautiful and clean and the location is exactly where you want to be in the Wrigleyville area. There are some stairs to climb, but it makes for a nice perch feeling being on the top floor. The extra half bathroom is very nice for guests when pregaming to go out. The bed is super comfy and the futon is more than adequate for an additional 2 guests (I only had 2 including me). I will definitely be repeating my stay here as long as it's available. Thanks Barbara!
Barbara and her husband Steve stayed at our Cottage over the Memorial Day weekend. They were so delightful, and easy to communicate with, both in planning and in person. They were respectful of our property and left the cottage so tidy. I welcome them back anytime, and would certainly recommend them to other airbnb hosts.
