Nice hut with a/c, just a small walk outside of the city.
Since this is my first air bnb rental I really wanted to give a positive review but I honestly can't do that. For the price my expectation was basic motel fare like a super 8 or a comfort inn. I stayed for the time I had booked and then found higher quality lodgings at a better location for a superior price.
Pros: friendly and helpful staff, convenience store acroos the street. James was helpful with advice and directions prior to the trip. Street food next door at very reasonable prices.
Water pressure is low although there is lots of hot water
Pool liner is falling apart but Liz tells me they are getting this repaired.
Rooms have only one window each which is mostly blocked with an air conditioner.
Air conditioner was either too small for sq footage or otherwise ineffective unless operated continously..
Parts of the bed kept falling on the floor in the middle of the night (supports for the mattress which were cut too short).
Paint peeling from the ceiling due to leak in roof.
Jerry the town drunk (email hidden) every night and was never told to go away.
As other reviews have stated it is pretty far from town but I was expecting that. I did find it more difficult to deal with then I expected though.
James was wonderful at making sure my stay was as pleasant as possible. The location was not bad, as there is a beautiful beach only 5 minute walk away, but I would recommend getting a golf cart or bicycle because there are only a few food options nearby. Rooms were clean, not always quiet (but, nothing a pair of ear plugs can't fix!) and the bar was always full of friendly guests that you can socialize with. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed my stay!
a pleasant stay in a quieter nook of San Pedro. Jamie was very helpful and informative. A short taxi ride from downtown and several restaurants in short walking distance, and a friendly atmosphere of guests and locals at the small bar. Thanks!
This was the first Airbnb place I booked which was not in a private home, so my review is from a hotel perspective.
Good: low prices on a generally expensive island, esp. in high season. Plenty of hot water and strong wifi in the room. Two small local stores close by. Friendly people. My room had cable TV with lots of channels, but was missing the remote control. The host has promised to provide remotes.
To be considered: It's not close to town. I like to walk and did the 1+ mile walk each way twice a day, but if that's not for you you'll need to pay a taxi or rent a golf cart. The main road is paved but there is about 150 yards of dirt road between the paved road and the hutz.
Perfect budget place to stay in San Pedro. Staff is great! Located slightly away from downtown but it's not a problem. 5 mins walk from diveshop.
Good fun place. A ways away from the beach. Rooms are nice, staff is friendly. Music can get a bit loud. Recommend for someone looking for a budget place to stay in Belize.
