nyc-harlem. I am a former executive chef and culinary consultant. Currently I am finishing up a PhD in Food Studies with a concentration in the Afro-Brazilian cuisines of northeastern Brazil. I have traveled extensively in the U.S. and the Caribbean, a little bit in Asia, parts of Latin America, and various places in Western Europe. I speak 4 languages, English, Portuguese, Spanish and French. Currently the French needs more renovation... I am very interested in folklore, world music, jazz, of course food and foodways, theatre, film, photography and visual art. I do not smoke, I travel light, have a sunny disposition, advocate human rights for all, and experiencing other people's culture is one of my favorite things to do!
