Clau was great from the time we made the reservation till the end. we booked a 2 month stay about 6 months in advance. we were met in the near by beautiful city of Merida on the day of our Reservation and was met by Clau's mother to take us to the house. Upon arrival we met Carlos the owner. every one was super friendly and Carlos even had a bottle of wine and Tequila as a welcome gift. Any time during our two months if there was any issue ( they were few ) they were addressed IMMEDIATELY! The house was very comfortable. As Clau mentioned it would probably be best if you have your own transportation as it is out away, yet both Chicxulub and Pogreso are close enough and have pretty much everything you would need. Overall we really enjoyed our time at Casa Tropical Riviera. It was a great home base to excursions. lots of ruins within a day away. Also the Cenotes. Cancun is only three hours away, which was nice for people that wanted to fly in and spend a couple days with us. was convenient enough to go do an over night and play at one of the all inclusive resorts. Also Merida itself is wonderful. we made the drive there many times for dinner. wonderful restaurants and things to do. we also did a couple overnights there on the weekends to watch all of the people on the bicycle route down Paseo De Montejo and downtown Merida. Everything in the area is very safe. I have been living and working in Mexico now off and on for about twelve years with National Geographic so have become more than accustomed to Mexico and it's culture. every one we came across was super friendly. we were there during the slow season s not much happening in the way of neighbors. there were a few Canadian snowbirds round us and plenty of people walking the beach or kayaking when the weather was nice. plenty of snowbird activities in the nearby neighborhods of Chicxulub and Progreso. didn't really fit our age range so we kept to ourselves mostly and spent alot of time either relaxing or day tripping.
The host canceled this reservation the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
