Our stay at Cove Cottage was magical. The spring weather brought drama of storms and sunbursts and the beauty of the spring flowers. Cove Cottage is a special hideaway tucked in Oswald West State Park. It feels very private but with easy access to beach, forest, mountain and the towns of Manzanita and Cannon Beach. It exceeded our expectations and is accurately described by the hosts. Everything is very clean and instructions for all of the features in the house are clearly described. The bedrooms are cozy while the great room is spacious with a simple elegance. The wide windows reveal the constantly changing sky and ocean. In the foreground hummingbirds, robins, crows and flickers pass through. We were thankful that it is set back a bit from the ocean itself, as it is better protected from the wind and the eroding cliffs above the beach. The hosts graciously allowed us to add an extra day and were very helpful with all of the information they provide about the surrounding area.
Fantastic view, spotlessly clean, hot tub well worth the extra charge. Thanks for opening up your lovely home to travellers!
This is a beautiful, well kept beach cottage with an amazing view! Our host John was easily available and provided everything we needed for a wonderful stay. Already planning another stay this summer!
This house is truly wonderful--as lovely as it looks in the photos. Everything was spotless and the house is beautifully appointed. Beds were comfy, with nice linens. Would absolutely recommend it to anyone interested in a stay in this beautiful area.
A wonderful house with an incredible view. Hope to stay again soon!
Cove Cottage was outstanding. I highly recommend this choice. Owners were very accommodating and welcoming. The cottage was exactly as described, as were the photos a great representation, (although there is nothing like being there). The view is spectacular and the place was close to the beach and a short drive to tourist locations, such as Cannon Beach. Great Stay. Look forward to returning.
We loved staying here!! We are already talking about when we'd like to come back!
Pros: The large windows, great nature light, amazing deck, the sound of the water, and the hammock chair made for an instantly relaxing weekend. We especially liked how the living room was so well lit with natural light even when it was overcast and drizzly... (Amazing on sunny days obviously). The deck and living room windows had a great view of the water and situated in a way that made for great privacy from the homes around it. The kitchen looked like it had updated appliances and all the kitchen ware you needed for basic cooking. The drive thru the forest to get to the house was pretty cool too. Owner was quick to respond to emails.
Cons: the bathrooms are a bit dated cosmetically (blue toilet and shower), but was very clean and in good condition. The spiral staircase could be a bit narrow getting up and down if you've got large luggage. We didn't use the upstairs so it didn't really matter for us. None of these cons were deal breakers tho.
Gorgeous house, beautifully furnished and well equipped with everything we needed to make some lovely meals. The view is breath taking - perched above the ocean and surrounded by forest. Short walk down to the ocean, which was very private during low tide. Would love to stay there again. John was fast to respond and a great communicator.
Everything was great about the house, great kitchen, living room and views. It was a super relaxing weekend all in all. I would definitely stay again.
