¶ It is unfortunate that Mr. Haddioui had an unpleasant experience at my place. The description and pictures are taken and approved by Airbnb professional photographers. I called Mr. Haddioui for check in at 3pm and waited to meet him at the property. However, he cancelled saying he would prefer to check in at 8pm.
¶ I left to attend other errands only to receive another phone call from Mr. Haddioui at 4pm, telling me that he had changed his mind and was currently at the apartment. Talking him through how to access the lockbox and the apartment, he assured me that everything was fine and the apartment would suit his parents' needs.
¶ When they arrived in the evening, I personally traveled to meet them at 10pm to ensure that they had everything they needed to feel as comfortable as possible in a busy city. The charming couple greeted me pleasantly and informed me that they were quite comfortable.
¶ Mr. Haddioui, however, tells a different story, claiming his parents were cold and that he wanted a refund. I inquired whether they used the heater and extra blankets that I always provide in the unit, but Mr. Haddioui was insistent upon moving his parents out of the room and demanding a refund.
¶ Mr. Haddioui, after reading the cancellation policy, the description of the unit, and inspecting the place prior to his parents' arrival still decided to book my place for 8 days. To demand a refund using threats and even racist remarks is unacceptable in all conditions and against the law.
¶ My terms and conditions detail a strict cancellation policy for my units. A unit booked for eight days is a significant amount of time for a peak season. Asking for a refund while the unit cannot be rented out to other guests is insulting to the effort I have put in, inconsiderate, and against my policy. Please be wary of hosting pretentious guests such as Mr. Haddioui.
Yassine was great. Actually, there was a glitch with his getting into the condo because the realtor had not placed the right keys in the lockbox. Once he told me, we had to be creative, the both of us, and the problem was solved.
