I'm an American ex-pat.
I enjoy hiking, camping, cooking, wine, reading, technology, supply and demand curves, and comfy cardigans. I love to meet new people and discover new perspectives on life. That's what travelling is all about, right?

Jenna is a friendly and welcoming person. Everything was well organised and our room and the bathroom were clean. However we agree with the previous comments that the kitchen is a bit inconveniently located as you have to cross the living room where Jenna is sleeping. Also there is not really a space where you can hang out. All in all this is the right place to stay if you just need somewhere to sleep. It's a very quite area of the city and only about a 20 minutes walk from the centre. And the cat is very cute and playful!
I would recommend this room. When I stayed there, Jenna was so busy that unfortunately I could not meet her but her friend took care of me. She was really nice. The cat is also friendly. The #11 will take you to the city centre. It comes almost every 10 minutes.
An economical place to stay in Edinburgh. Host was simple and straight about instructions. Enough parking place around. The flat is on the 5th floor (no lift) so keep in mind your luggage before your book.
Good place if you just need a place to sleep.
There is a scope for improvement, for example the bed sheets amd towels.
We were nearly given full freedom within the flat. The cat lovely and very friendly.
To start off, it should be stated that this is a flat suitable for students, meaning that you can expect noise, people popping in and out, and not so clean facilities. The room was actually OK: the bed was comfy, it was well heated, and is bigger than it appears in the picture. However, the bathroom was rather dirty. The cat was very cute but it also kept sneaking into our room and luggage, which was quite annoying. We didn't manage to see much of Jenna, though she was nice and welcoming in the 5 minute talk we had.
The main downside of this flat, as we see it, is the kitchen. Despite being advertised as accessible for AirBNB guests, this is not true. In fact, you have to go through the living room to get there, which, at the time we were in the flat, was being shared by Jenna and other girl sleeping in the floor, meaning that we had to almost crush their heads to get to the kitchen to boil some water for tea. And the kitchen was untidy, to say the least. Not nice, as you can imagine. In addition, one night we were awake at 3 AM by people arriving and leaving the flat.
Regarding distances, it takes about 30 minutes by foot to get to the city centre, which is walkable but not so close by. All in all, we wouldn't recommend it unless you are student and just looking for a place to crush at night, and we do suggest to reevaluate including the kitchen as a facility because it's misleading.
Jenna is very friendly. Everything was well organized. We enjoyed to stay at her place!
cosy, quiet jenna and the cat are nice, very clean bathroom
Nice easy comfortable room . I'd recommend
We stayed three nights at Jenna's place, and we liked it. The room is small (as you can see) and the matress is quite soft, which I don't like that much, but for a few nights it worked well for us. Jenna was nice and welcoming and recommended us a nice pub down the street. The place is not exactly downtown, but in about 15 minutes you're in the city centre and it's an easy walk. There are also busses if you're lazy. We definitely recommend Crumbs Café for breakfast (every day until 11am, sat&sun all day!) They have great coffee and a breakfast that suited our budget. One negative point is the kitchen - you have to go through the living-/Jenna's private room, so we basically did not use the kitchen. Bathroom is fine, but you have to get used to frequent kitten 'attacks' when you enter or leave, she will hunt your feet. Weekitten is the cutest and most playful little thing and we tried really hard not to just grab her and run :D All in all, its a good option to stay if you're not into big rooms. Definitely worth its money.
If you're just looking for a place to stay for the night it's the place for you as the price is attractive.
Our check-in time got postponed last minute by the host, which was fine but later I found it quite tiring to carry the heavy bags around while touring the town.
I agree to the previous reviews about how the exterior of the building and pathway to the flat puts you off a bit, and it does get very dark and quiet in the neighborhood at night. There's a cemetery closeby too. But like I said, if you don't mind and just looking for somewhere to crash, this can be an option for you.
Nice basic room not too far from the city centre.
A very nice young woman, with an intelligent mind, clean and relaxed.
Jenna and travel companion were very nice and seemed to be totally at ease as they used and enjoyed other parts of the house, besides the allocated room, yet quite respectful. They treated the dogs with respect, too. Much appreciated.
Hey! I've known Jenna for many years now. She's a really cool person, who is very smart and super fun! We've had many trips together, all of which I have enjoyed immensely. She's always willing to engage in an intellectual debate or just kick back and relax. Don't miss out on meeting this fantastic chica!
