Everything was great... the place is what it should be, comfortable and private and we were happy spending time at the house, taking advantage of Shem's movie collection, cooking and lounging by the pool. The helper was super sweet and Shem's contact for car & bike rentals was very reliable and punctual etc.
Good private house
Lovely, charming, clean, and comfortable.
WOW..Do not pass Go, do not collect $200..Stay at S's place and relax, unwind and chill. His place is so homely and the view from upstairs is too amazing to describe. We stayed at this amazing Villa for 6 days and enjoyed every second of it, after 3 weeks of birthdays and catch ups it was great to just BE and this is the place to do this. There are some amazing eclectic pieces scattered around the place that makes the place very homely. Wayan came daily and made us the yummiest fresh fruit, fresh Juice and amazing coffee, she was rewarded with little strawberry tart treats from Mousier Spoon (Her favourite and now mine) Her Jumbo omelette is a must have. Thank you Wayan.. Thanks' S for letting us stay in your little piece of heaven .

All in all a great host and a wonderful place made for an awesome stay for us both. Will be back for sure..

Down the end of a little lane, right next to a paddy field is this most hospitable place to stay.
Downstairs looking out over the pool is an open air kitchen and dinning room in the local fashion, and outdoor bathroom and an air-conditioned TV room which I would retreat too in the afternoon. I found it a little odd that there was no TV reception but there were a lot of movies and a Playstation.
I spent my mornings (after a basic breakfast cooked for me by the housekeeper) writing at the dining table and dipping in the pool, while the locals got on with the business of rice farming around me. On the weekend kids laughed and played outside. Occasionally a cat or cow would walk past. It's very quaintly rural.
This is the 3rd world so there was a lot of burning off at this time of year (June) which bothered me a bit, but that's ok.
Upstairs are the two bedrooms both with en-suites. the air-conditioning is a little under powered so I found myself being a bit naughty and turning it on very early in the afternoon to get it cold enough by sleep time. But the beds and linen were comfortable and clean.
the house is not perfect but it's pretty good and considering the money, excellent value.
Wayan the housekeeper was lovely and keen to see me happy even if I sometimes took a while to get through exactly what I was after. As is the way a husband, brother, cousin or friend provided everything I needed from scooter, car, food, laundry, supplies, and even an extra power board.
She got me food and cooked me a basic breakfast with some of the best fresh squeezed orange juice I've had in a long time.
Echo Beach (far away in time - really!) and it's nightly BBQ, ripping waves and casual atmosphere is just a quick 5 minute scooter away (not really walking distance) past local shops, eateries and the odd hotel. And in the evening its mostly other scooters so I felt less threatened by mad mini-vans like in town.
Old Man's is about 10 minutes by scooter away - this was much more vibey with nightly bands and western food. Quite young though.
Deus et Machina was on the way and I must admit I had more than a couple of lunches there.
You could scooter into Seminyak but it is mad crazy and the two times I did left me wondering why I didn't just get a cab.
My partner is yoga obsessed and Desa Seni is just down the road as well.
All in all an excellent stay if this type of thing suits you - you won't go wrong here.
This beautiful villa in Canggu was a great place to stay while visiting family in Bali. Perfect location - near restaurants and beaches, as well as being right in the middle of rice fields. Beautiful views of the sunset every night.
Great pool. Great sized bedrooms. All in all, very comfortable.
Wayan, the housekeeper, was so lovely and very helpful. She comes every day in the mornings to clean and make beds etc, but also took our laundry and did some shopping etc.
Very happy with our experience and would definitely recommend to other guests.

Great experience all the way around! 5-words that best describe doing-biz with Shem : 1) Outgoing 2) Communicative 3) Well-mannered 4) Trustworthy, and 5) Polite. Many thanks for being an AWESOME AIRBnB user and easy to deal with. You will be most welcome to stay anytime at the Lake Condo in Bangkok.
It was a pleasure accommodating Shem. I would welcome him
Back anytime and also happily recommend him to other hosts.
Shem was an excellent guest and we would be happy to welcome him to Bangkok should he return this way again in the future.
Very nice guest...good experience, hope to see him in Bali an other time.
An excellent guest - Shem is courteous and true to his word. Highly recommended.
Shem was a great guest, I was overseas while he stayed, so it was important to have someone trustworthy and clean. Shem was all that. He extended his stay as well. He's welcome back any time.
Shem was a great guest, communicated well and left the apartment in a good condition during his stay at our property in Melbourne. I can vouch for him for future stays.
