We have booked two nights in Rijeka in Sandra’s Apartment. Although we wrote two days before when we will arrive ( in the afternoon) the apartment was not ready to check in. When you arrive at the house you won’t find the apartment easily because it is in a separated floor in the third floor. We had to asked because there was no name at the door or bell. The area around the apartment let us feel uncomfortable. There was a very big road in front of the apartment and some curios looking buildings. This might be caused by the quarter where the apartment is. The apartment was clean only by the first impression. There were a lot of things broken (The windows could not be opened and closed as usual, in the bathroom the water did not flow up, the lights in the bedroom did not work and some other things). At 6.30 am it was noisy caused by workman in the building trade so that we could not sleep any longer. We felt so uncomfortable that we decided to leave. We wrote Sandra a short message and she’ll arrived half an hour later. She was not really understanding about our complaints, but she promised to give us the money of the night we would not spend back. We would not rent this apartment again although sandra gave us the money back as she promised.
Convenient place about 10 minutes walk to the city center of Rijeka. There's also a large-ish supermarket about 8 minutes walk away. There is space to park up the curb opposite the apartment. Keep in mind that it's up on the 3rd floor so you better like stairs! It's in an old apartment building but you have to get through 2 doors to get to the flat so it feels safe enough. As all the other reviews mention, this place has no WiFi so if you really can't stay disconnected, keep that in mind.
The apartment is well located (10 minutes walking from the center of Rijeka) to visit the city. To go to the beaches, you'll have to take your car (10-15 minutes) but they are were pretty !
Sandra the owner is a very nice lady. The apartment is nice however in an old building. A lot of stairs to go up with luggage. For the most part the apartment is modern however there are some downfalls. The bathroom is not as modern and the water in the shower is really hot. Almost burned us. The apartment is a 10 min walk from town centre. If driving, the parking is not ideal however it is quite common in Europe. If you have more then 2 people staying there, the sofa bed is pretty hard.
The appartement was full equiped (except internet access) and clean with a beautiful view on the moutain. It is a little hard to come by walk because the building is located up the road. Sandra was nice waiting for us.
Posto consigliato.
The appt was very nice : very well situated (5-10 minutes away from town center), simply furnished but beautiful, clean and comfortable. We felt like at home ! The air conditioning was very appreciable as well as the landscape we could see through out the window !
We haven't had the opportunity to meet Sandra but she was very kind and flexible with us. I highly recommend her appt for a stay !
The appartment was very nice, we had everthing we needed and more: a nice batroom with shiower, toiler and washer, a little kitchen which was well equiped, and a big bedroom. Only the bed was of lower quality, with a matrass that was rather soft (however sufficient for our short stay).
The welcome was very nice. Although Sandra's mother did not speak English we were well informed up front to avoid any problems. The appartment was close to the city center (10 min walk).
Sandra's apartment is very neat and tidy. It is a 5-min walk to the center. Even with big luggages, it took us only 15 minutes to walk to the bus terminal. The check-in was easy. Sandra's mom was waiting for us in the apartment. The apartment is spacious and has a well-equipped kitchen. There is a supermarket nearby if you want to cook. The only thing is that it has no wi-fi provided but there is free wifi coverage in the center. There should be no problem accessing the internet.
The restaurant nearby Konoba Feral is a really cheap and nice fish restaurant. You can choose your own fish. They have fish of different prices from 140kunas/kg to 300. That makes a regular size fish at about 60 kunas. I must recommend the class A calamari. Though it is more expensive, it is the best that I had in Croatia.
