This cabin overlooking Soquel Creek was exactly what we were looking for--a get away that was quiet and yet still close to civilization. The property was amazing. In addition to the cabin there's a great garden which we picked fresh vegetables from for dinner one night. AND, the best surprise was a treehouse on the property! Catherine was quick to respond to questions and David was helpful once we checked in.
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Catherine and David's cabin overlooking Soquel Creek. Their property is truly beautiful and quietly secluded. Catherine and David were gracious hosts, and saw to it that our stay was comfortable.
Absolutely love this place. Catherine is a wonderful host, super easy to communicate with and their home is clearly well loved and well taken care of. It's an amazing retreat for anyone looking for self reflection, or good old fashion fun. Beautiful!
What a beautiful location and great place to stay!
The photos aren't enough to show how wonderful this home and property are. The kids loved playing on the playset out front, swimming in the river, and hiking around in the woods. We saw deer, explored the woods and huge garden, and really enjoyed chatting with the owner's family. David and Catherine were exceptionally flexible and accommodating to us--easily going above and beyond to make our stay wonderful.
Can't wait to come back!
What a wonderful experience! My family absolutely loved Catherine and David's cabin. I can't stop talking about it.
The pictures really don't do it justice. Nor do words. The cabin is beautiful, and the grounds are amazing.
We were in a redwood forest (150 acres) all by ourselves with all of the amenities of home. There is even a washing machine and dryer. Another bonus was the wooden play structure, and the tree swings that my kids played on every single day. In addition we were able to go to The Boardwalk and other beaches in minutes.
We were able to pick and eat fruit and vegetables from the amazing orchard, and sit on the deck overlooking the creek. My favorite was the hammock under the redwoods. I could have stayed in that thing for days. I can't remember a time when I felt more relaxed.
We are very appreciative of the hospitality that David and Catherine showed us, as well as the incredible location.
We definitely plan on going back as soon as possible.
What a delightful escape! Thank you Catherine & David for your hospitality in welcoming us on your homestead. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the trails and relaxing under the canopy of redwoods. Bonus points for the fresh summer veggies that we were able to add to our dinner menu from your garden! We hope to come back soon, and now we know who to call for all of our wood needs!
We stayed at Catherine and Dave's cabin near the Soquel River, and it was lovely. The accommodations were spacious and clean. We had plenty of room to explore the beautiful natural surroundings (100+ acres), including a garden and a mountain. I'd recommend staying here if you're looking for some place that's peaceful, remote, and bucolic.
we really enjoyed our 2 week stay at this location. We are a family of 4 (2 boys aged 10 and 14) with a high energy dog. The cabin and surrounding areas are beautiful and incredibly relaxing. The hosts were fantastic, very helpful and accommodating to us.
Our boys and dog loved the exploring the grounds. There were always new areas to check out and they loved the cray fish filled creek. My wife and I enjoyed exploring too but also found that the cabin was really conducive to taking amazing afternoon naps.
The location is near to Soquel and Aptos. There are great mountain bike areas very near by. We also spent time exploring the nearby beaches and other neighborhoods in santa cruz. The boys learned surfing and paddleboarding.
Overall, we had a really good 2 week vacation and the cabin was an important part of the whole experience
Wow! What a wonderfully beautiful place to stay. The property is on many acres of land to play, hike or simply lounge. It property is very private and the cabin is fully stocked and very comfortable. We bbq'd every night and enjoyed waking to the sound of birds in the morning.
Our hosts, Catherine and David were great! Catherine was very responsive when making our reservations, and David was more than accommodating upon our arrival and departure. He spent time welcoming our family, and gave us a personal tour of the property, including what poison oak looks like and how to avoid it. They were both very easy.
Thank you for a wonderful weekend away with our kids. Although the outcome of our son's soccer tourney was not successful, finding this gem was!

I didn't get to meet Catherine and her family but we had contact on the phone and they were friendly and polite. They looked after the house and I would recommend her to future hosts
