CAUTION!!! Paid $3000 dollars for 4 nights, was promised a refund. Has been over 2 wks and have been fed a bunch of slick excuses regarding the delay and now I'm being ignored. I followed airbnbs refund guideline as well and they haven't done anything either. I have pictures and saved messages.
Here's what I wrote to Ilya:
Pictures posted on airbnb do not reflect the condition of the place. Extremely subpar, unhealthy staying conditions. Rust is present almost everywhere including a couple lamps. Black mold appears present, most notibly in the restrooms. Loose wall outlets. Bedroom window does not close. Air conditioning/ventilation filter is extremely dirty.
Bathroom hallway light fixture not working. The paint all around is dirty, especially the baseboards. Previous rust spots seem to be painted over and the rust is coming thru. There are large seam cracks on upper walls.
There are other things as well but after the first paragraph I honestly shouldn't need to list my concern any further.
The reservation was canceled 29 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Ilya was an attentive host, communication was prompt and hassle free. He emailed me several recommendations before our arrival which were very useful.
The apartment was in excellent condition, with all the amenities necessary to have a pleasant stay. Parking is readily available and free of charge. We never used the pool but it looked clean, mostly we walked to the beach which has a private entrance for the guests right next to the Ritz Hotel.
I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Miami. It was specially useful for us because we have family living in the Key.
This is a nice apartment for those with large groups. We fit
5 girls comfortably and could have fit more if we shared beds.
The view from the balcony is amaaaazing! Make sure you get there early and request a beach view. The reception area is really nice, but the rooms are outdated and they're in the middle of remodeling. I didn't get to meet Ilya, but the receptionist had a great sense of humor and was very helpful. They give great advice on places to go in south beach. By the way, cabs were an average $15-20 from this unit to SoBe. When in Miami, I highly recommend a Cuban sandwich and Cuban coffee if you're a coffee lover!
The listing is exactly as described, and more! We traveled to Miami for a bachelorette party with 10 girls and the location was perfect. Due to the size of our group, we booked the listing with 2 units. When we arrived, there was a slight mix-up with our reservation but the young lady at the front desk was very helpful and got it corrected right away. They were out of the "junior suite" units so she actually upgraded one of our units to a "master suite" which was really great. Unfortunately the units were not right next to each other, but they tried to get us as close as possible. One unit was on the 14th floor, while the other was on the 15th floor. Both units were very roomy and clean. The kitchens were both stocked with pots, plates, silverware, etc. We were able to cook in the condo for most of our meals, which was really helpful. The mini-mart downstairs was also a bonus- we didn't have to travel far to get extra ice and other items. The beach was beautiful and the direct access was perfect. I would definitely stay here again!
Ilya was really helpful and responsive. We did have two issues. 1) the rooms were not adjacent to one another as we expected. We also had an issue with hotel itself. In addition to being much more dated and poorly maintained than expected. Management gave us a really hard time throughout our stay. i would stay away the Seacoast Suites at all costs.
The room was not exactly as advertised. It was not a full 4 bedroom unit. Instead it was 2 units that were each 2 bedrooms, so in total all the bathrooms and beds were available but just in 2 rooms instead of 1.
There was a small challenge to find our reservation once we got to the front desk and it was a bit hard to get a hold of Ilya, but everything turned out okay. The stay in the rooms was average and there was nothing alarmingly negative about the rooms.
Good location. Clean (there was housekeeping service). This is a condo/hotel type accommodation. You can't choose the exact rental shown on the picture. The building is older. We came to watch the tennis tournament and it was perfect location. We rented a bicycle but one can actually walk to the tennis site. Great restaurants (best one was a Peruvian place called Ceviche Bar by Mixtura owned by local legendary tennis player Pablo Arrayas ) and grocery store within walking distance. Also being able to walk to the Ritz Carlton tennis courts for some clinics and lessons was a plus. We could hear the tennis balls being struck :)
Location is great, beach access is awesome, house keeping was a great perk and market downstairs has just about everything you need.
These are basically extended stay hotel rooms not someone's private condo. All of the rooms are different and unfortunately they can not guarantee where you will be staying it all depends on when you check in. We got two rooms for our stay and one room was great with an amazing view. The second room was not great still dirty, had a weird odor, no tv and did not look at all like the first one, but the person at the front desk was very accommodating and moved our rooms to one that was acceptable. It was a bachelor party so we were also flexible and did not need much from the room.
If you are looking for an affordable place to just crash and will be out on the town, which you probably will be in Miami, than this place works.
I know Ilya since 2004. He is a charming person, good friend and always very hospitable to guests at his house.
Ilya is always welcoming and friendly, whenever I am in Miami, I know I always have a friend to turn to for help or fun :)
