Jase&Emily
This was my first air b&b experience so I wasn't sure what to expect. Below is a list of pros and cons if anyone is interested..
pros: great location for a universal studios visit and easy drive to the airport, Jase let me store leftovers in the refrigerator and also allowed me to use his microwave/dishes for those leftovers.
cons: The bedroom and toilet need to be dusted, the microwave looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months, and the cats will climb on the counter and try to take food while you eat.
Room and bathroom was fine. We prefer to not use the kitchen.
Pros: Hosts were very warm and accommodating. The bed and the room were some of the best I have encountered booking with Airbnb thus far. Parking was easy and secure.
Cons: Commute was not great as I was trying to get into Santa Monica every morning. But this is LA, you'll encounter that problem where ever you end up staying.
Overall, I had a great experience. I would highly recommend this room. Thank you so much for letting me stay with you! :)
Our pleasure, Lindsey! We hope you have a great time on the rest of your stay in LA!
It was a nice room and clean room. Jase is a great host and I would definitely recommend him as a host. The dog is very cute. A good place to stay in LA with a car.
I stayed with Jase and Emily for two months while I was interning in West Hollywood. They are great hosts, especially if you are new to the L.A. area like I was! They are both very easy to talk to and will happily answer any questions you may have. Or, if you like to keep to yourself, they are very respectful of your privacy.
The bedroom and bathroom are just as nice as the pictures on here look! There is a lot of room for your clothes and other luggage and the bed is comfortable, too. I never once felt cramped in my time here. The A/C unit in the bedroom is older and may take a while to cool the room down, but I never felt too warm, even when it was really hot outside. Other reviewers have said this, but finding free, off-street parking in Los Angeles is rare, so having that here was a very nice bonus.
One note: if you are looking to stay here for an extended period of time, you should be comfortable with pets. Freddy is a very friendly dog who will greet you every time you come in the door, and their cats, Camille and Henry, can also be very lovable. I personally love both dogs and cats, so I was happy to have some animal companions!
This apartment is in a great location, only a few minutes away from some supermarkets, movie theaters, and retail stores. And, in good traffic, it is about a 25 to 30 minute commute to the Hollywood area. Jase and Emily would easily be my first recommendation for anyone looking for a temporary home in Los Angeles!
Jase is a great host. He answered all my questions and offered many good restaurant tips. The place is awesome, spacious, well equipped and comfortable. I had a great one week stay there and had no issues at all. Jase also has the nicest pets who are always a treat to see. I highly Recommend this awesome setup.
Terrific place to live in ! Jase & Emily are super awesome, friendly and available for any of my questions. The room is great, it's large and having a private bathroom is the best thing I could have wished for. Same for the parking spot, believe me that it's a huge advantage :) Even if it's not in the center of L.A, it's really close but having a car is important, no matter where you live! The pricing is really interesting as the cost of living in L.A is really high...Final words: You definitely need to chose this room ! :)
We loved staying with Jase and Emily! We were here for over a month and were very comfortable. The room was just like in the picture. Everything was clean and there were loads of space for all your stuff. Other Pros:
- Jase and Emily are exemplary hosts and will give you all the privacy you want but help you with answers about LA/the neighborhood if you want it. They’re super nice, welcoming and helpful.
- Having our own bathroom was so nice! Nice power in the shower.
- Your own parking space! If you haven’t been in LA before let me tell you, when having your own car, having a parking space saves you so much hassel and time.
- Aircon was loud but it made the room cold instantly if needed.
- There is also heating in the ceiling if you're cold (LA can be a bit chilly at night believe it or not). And it was the best thing ever. It heated the room up fast and even if you turned it off after 10 min it would keep the room nice and toasty for a really long time.
- The wifi is really fast.
- They have two chilled cats but best of all they have a tiny pup: Freddy. He’s the cutest thing ever and he always makes you feel very loved whenever we came downstairs.
The only con I would say is that the apartment is right next to Victory Blvd which is a pretty busy road. So if you sensitive to sound when you’re sleeping you might want to have earplugs. I did but my boyfriend didn’t. So it’s really individual. In general, it's hard to find places in LA that are completely quiet.
I can nothing but recommend this place. I’m really happy we chose to live there, especially since we were there for so long.
To sum up, we’d definitely come back!
I had a grandiose time here - great room and comfy bed. Everything and everyone was clean. Jase and Emily are great people and can tell you about the lay of the land. Their place is located in a good part of town and everyone about seemed friendly. The accommodations you get for the price you pay here are well worth it. I've researched dozens of other AirBnB listings and this is by far the best one. The pets are awesome too I have asthma and allergies and did not have any problems with the pets or the room. The scale for AirBNB is based on stars, but if I could somehow rate this place properly I'd give them the AAA 5 diamond award for excellency.
My husband was the one who hosted Jase and his girlfriend, and he really liked them. They were perfect guests.
