Hey, I’m Pamela!

Whistler, Canada · Member since July 2012

I grew up skiing Whistler as a child but really learned to ski on the slopes of Mt Seymour in North Vancouver. As the youngest of 5 I got to tag along with my older brothers and sisters and therefore had to learn to keep up with them on the slopes so I wouldn't get lost. I was a ski pro for 34 years so know Whistler and Blackcomb like the back of my hand - happy to take you up in winter. I snowboard a bit but usually ski. In summer I enjoy the Valley Trail riding my Schwinn Cruiser or roller-blading. The last 29 years I have been busy with my 3 kids and keeping my property management company going (since 86) My husband Rod is now enjoying retirement! (from Whistler Secondary). Our daughter Marielle Thompson is the 2nd Canadian woman to bring home an Individual Crystal Globe meaning she won the World Cup Ski Cross Title in 2012 and again in 2014 and is reigning Canadian Champion and National team member winning two Team Crystal Globes too. And, it was fun to see her win an Olympic Gold Medal in Sochi in 2014! My son Broderick is on the National Alpine Ski Team and is presently training in Calgary - he had his first World Cup top 30 result in 2015 and a couple more in 2016. Our youngest, Tess is a great skier too but is an accomplished dancer and figure Skater who recently completed her Triple Gold Skate Canada designation and is working on becoming an instructor. She manages our Squamish home in Garibaldi Highlands which is also ideally located for mountain biking and climbing while she trains in both Squamish and Vancouver. So if you are a mountain enthusiast we have you covered for accommodation in the Sea to Sky area. We have a couple of dog-friendly places and Cookie is our dog who is 16 this August. So, she and I welcome guests from around the globe - thank-you to all of our return guests and welcome to our new ones - we look forward to meeting you! I have enjoyed meeting guests and helping them arrange their west coast vacations for over 30 years. Time flies when you are having fun!
