As always: wonderful. Previous reviews cover it all — location, coziness, quiet, a top-notch host.
I'd add only one thing: there is so much great hiking nearby that hikers should do homework and try to use this great location as a base. Check out (website hidden) and enjoy the outdoors then come back to Tin Roses to relax. It is one of the calmest places you can stay.
The listing and other reviews were accurate. Tin Roses Bungalows are seasonal cabins in a very quiet location. Definitely a good place to consider during the warmer months. We happened to pick the last weekend of the season and it was COLD (30's at night). Melissa had extra blankets and a propane space heater for us, but that could only go so far. The kitchen area is great and well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, etc. Although we brought charcoal and the grill and outdoor furniture was there, we didn't cook outside because it was getting dark at dinner time. The bed was comfortable, and we enjoyed the screened porch (curled up under blankets, but still a cozy place to spend an afternoon). The shower is old style, and I should have brought shower sandles and more toiletries. We had problems with the instant water heater, but Melissa said there is a reset that, if we had called her, she could have helped us with. In general the cabins are very clean and cozy. Wifi was an unexpected surprise! Good place to consider if you are in the area.
Our host Melissa was very accommodating. Whenever we had any questions or request she responded quickly and did her best to help.
The bungalow we stayed in was comfortable and quaint. Our schedule did not allow us to spend much time on site but we are happy with our choice to stay at Tinroses!
Melissa was an excellent host for our recent stay at Bungalow #3. She was very communicative about how to prepare for the visit and directions to the location. The Bungalow was just as described and provided a tranquil setting away from the city. Highly recommended!
Melissa was a great host! She's very nice and her dog is super cute. The place was clean and as described, it had most everything you would need in the kitchen. If you need anything specific, I would email her and ask if it is available. Her communication was very detailed, helpful, and quick. The place is beautiful, nestled in the woods, near a beautiful pond. Great location!
We stayed at Melissa's lovely bungalow for an easy weekend getaway in September. The bungalow is exactly what you see in the pictures - clean, rustic, nicely decorated, quiet, and comfortable. The location is within an easy half hour drive to Minnewaska State Park Reserve which contains beautiful trails featuring beautiful views of the Catskills.
The place was fantastic! Great locale, close to hiking, cute interior, and Melissa is nearby in case anything is needed. Highly recommend this place.
Tinrose was cute in a Dirty Dancing kind of way. Melissa was sweet and very communicative, although we did not meet in person. The cabins are not winterized, so they are veryyyy cold when the weather is chilly. She did give us extra blankets and a heater, but it's still good to bundle up. We cooked a little bit in the kitchen, too. It's sort of like upscale camping in a way, so you bring your own towels (sheets and kitchen utensils are provided there, though), and if you plan to cook, bring your food, oil, etc.
We had a lovely time with our two doggies, and it was such a peaceful retreat. We would go back for sure.
Thanks for having us! Xo
Our stay was absolutely wonderful! The cottage was exactly as depicted. The sun porch was super relaxing and was where we spent our evenings. Great location with easy access to hiking, vineyards, good brunch spots, and bars.
Melissa is a great host and the cabin and grounds are lovely. Felt like staying in a classic 50s style family resort. She told us about a great farm stand nearby and we found it easy to take advantage of a few different spots along the Hudson River.
Melissa was a great guest! Very nice and easy to communicate with. Left the place in great condition and followed the house rules. Would definitely recommend her as a guest and would gladly welcome her back in the future.
