Hello. Please feel free to ask a question about my house or the activities around it. For example what to do or see.
Birta was extremely hospitable to the 4 of us! She was patient in helping us figure out the directions to her place and welcomed us very warmly to her lovely cottage. The cottage is well equipped and has very substantial heating. Birta also provided us with great advice as to where to catch the Northern Lights and the amazing sights we could catch en route to Lake Myvatn the next day. Thanks Birta for being a lovely host!
The cottage was nice and confortable. Brita's mother was nice and helpfull and her dog is the cutest dog ever.
Birta was a wonderful host, and the cottage was set in the most beautiful area. Plus, she has a very sweet dog, who we fell in love with! We only stayed for one night and wish we could have stayed longer.
Birta and her mum are both warm, friendly and very welcoming. Birta also sent us a warning on bad weather conditions the day we were to arrive at the cottage, which was very thoughtful! Just before we checked out, Birta provided some suggestions for our itinerary, checked the weather and even helped to call a tour company to enquire the availability of a glacier walk. Much appreciated, thanks Birta!
As for our stay at the cottage - it's warm and cosy with good bathroom and kitchen facilities. Bed is really soft and comfortable so we had a good night's rest! The cottage is located in a peaceful and quiet area, with a horse farm nearby. Very convenient if you plan to do some horse riding in Iceland. Would recommend the cottage and hope to be back in summer!!
The cabin is very comfortable, warm, and cozy, with a great bed and easy to find location. It's a great base for exploring the areas surrounding Reykjavic. Birta was incredibly helpful and always had suggestions for what to do, which was so helpful when weather cancelled our original plans on more than one occasion. We will definitely be back!
Thank you Birta!
Response from Birta:
Amazing place. The area was breathtaking, the cottage was awesome, Birta and her mum were really friendly....... and their dog was cute as hell.
Toasty throughout the stay despite it being winter with sheets of ice all over. Just wish I could have stayed for longer.
Birta and her mother were very welcoming to us, and made us feel very at home to ask for anything we needed during our stay. We encountered some dramatic weather, and they gave great suggestions for things that were still do-able despite the snow storm. The cabin is in a beautiful location and was very comfortable for 3 of us.
A fantastic beautiful cottage! Very warm, heated underfloor, a short drive from Reykjavik but it feels like a whole world away. A perfect base to visit places like Geysir, Gullfoss and of course Pingvellir.
Birta was lovely and gave us good recommendations on things to see in the south, all of which were awesome - Svartifoss, Fjarlsarlon. Gunna was super friendly. All in all, a wonderful place that I would love to go back to.
Birta and Gunna were the most gracious hosts we had on our week's excursion to Iceland. Their well-appointed, well-located cottage is both adorable and comfortable--we slept like babies! This is a great option for those visiting Reykjavik or Þingvellir who desire a self-catering option--the Mosfellsbær valley has excellent proximity to both attractions. We'll be back! Takk fyrir!
Birta was friendly and accomodating (plus she spoke Danish flawlessly). The cabin was a bit hard to find, but the setting was beautiful, and the cabin was clean and well equipped with everything you need.
The cabin is well suited for travelers going to "the golden circle" or Snæfellsnes.
polite clean and very communicative.
Recomended do any guest!
