We had a great time at Dan's place. He was very easy to deal with the whole time - gave great directions and suggestions on the area and was really friendly. Sandy Hook is beautiful, as is the surrounding area - we had a fantastic bike ride around the region. We also enjoyed our time in Highlands.
I had a quick but enjoyable stay with Dan, Sacha, and Xuxa (was competing in a local sprint triathlon the next morning). The house is in a great location and super close to the Sandy Hook park. The room was very comfortable and I got a perfect night's rest before the event. Dan is very accommodating, laid back, and friendly. The Sandy Hook area is gorgeous and I hope to come back for a longer trip and would definitely stay with Dan again.
Dan is an excellent host - kind, generous, helpful. The room could be called small, but I would say it's cozy. Great location for anyone heading to Sandy Hook. I will definitely be back!
Dan is a friendly and very gracious host. The house was clean and well kept. We were all very comfortable and pleased.
Dan knows the area well and made great suggestions for where to go on the beach, or for food and drinks.
The two dogs are super well behaved and friendly.
My girlfriend forgot a couple pieces of jewelry and Dan mailed it back to us!
We would definitely recommend Casa De Sacha Xuxa.
My girlfriend and I stayed at Casa de Sacha for two nights and it was a great experience. Dan is very accomodating, friendly and laid back and helped to make our weekend in Highlands and Sandy Hook an unforgettable experience. Not only did he pick us up from the ferry and gave us a tour of Highlands and Sandy Hook, but also lent us a cooler and picked us up from the beach. On top of that he gave us excellent tips of places to visit, such as the Twin Lights and the town's best restaurants. You could not ask for a better host. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Little Sacha makes sure to let you know why the house has her name, but will warm up to you eventually, and Xuxa is always there for a belly rub. We will definitely stay at his place when we visit again.
Dan, Sacha, and Xuxa are great hosts. Dan gave us lots suggestions about where to hang around around Sandy Hook and nearby area. Our room was comfortable and clean. We will definitely stay at his place if we visit this area.
Dan was an exceptional host and just an all-around great guy to hang out with!
He picked us up from the ferry with Sacha when we arrived, gave us a tour of Atlantic Highlands recommending great places to eat drink, lent us beach towels and a cooler and gave us a ride to the beach on Sandy Hook both days we were there.
The Casa de Sacha was a very comfortable, spacious and clean house that couldn't be better located for access to the beaches on Sandy Hook and a five minute walk to restaurants and bars in the town of Highland.
We will definitely be coming back to stay at Casa de Sacha!
Dan, Sacha, and Xuxa are terrific hosts. My partner said "what could he do better?" Nothing. A so much better alternative to rooms within 20 miles of Sandy Hook—and this place is right on top of Sandy Hook. Many thanks.
Dan is an interesting individual who was helpful and knowledgable and able to tell us a lot about his locality and about his Hurricane Sandy experience. He was also able to direct us to some specific shops we needed and to some good eating places. His wifi was not working but we were able to use his computer to check our emails. Our rooms were comfortable though the smaller of the two bedrooms is quite small. Dan loves his two dogs very much and they are inside a lot so if you do not like dogs this is not the place for you. The smaller of the two dogs has an attitude but did eventually warm to us. We liked the location and enjoyed our night time walk to the lighthouse.
