I am Director for Indiana University South Bend's Office of Admissions and International Student Services, work I have done at various universities for over twenty years; my family has hosted international students in our home for more than 20 years, as well. My husband builds custom-designed furniture and all the bookshelves in the house---we have no television, but we do love to sit with a good book and quaff a glass of something red. My children are grown and living in South Carolina (Lorcan is a musician and a VISTA volunteer) and Bloomington, Indiana (Maeve is an artist, a communtiy activist and general rabble rouser in between studies). My husband lived in La Madelena for two years, in Paris for six..... I have also lived and studied in Oslo, as my father was Norwegian and I am mad for all things Nordic. I enjoy travel and get to do a lot of it for my work, and when I travel I most enjoy meeting new people, visiting museums and bookshops and galleries and music venues and all the little hidden nooks and crannies of a place that make for a rich experience.
