I just returned from an Airbnb trip to Memphis & it reminded me of what I love about traveling and being a guest: when you find a place that matches your style and personality--the neighborhood, the decor of the space, the local color--it's really like finding your home base away from home; like you would've picked the same apt. to live yourself. Being integrated into the neighborhood and enjoying what's right outside the front door is important to me, instead of being part of the masses and following the tourist herd.
I love all things vintage; I am always making lists of things to do: restos to try, places to go, books to read, movies to see--most of which lean toward indie; and I would be lost without the Sunday New York Times--my inspiration/guide for said lists.
I do a lot of housesitting for my job, so I'm used to used to making as little of a mark as possible while in someone else's home--hopefully no marks at all ; )
