Love boating and travel.
We enjoyed our stay here. The house is secluded and the grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Everything was clean and ready for our arrival. We would definitely stay here again if visiting the Sebastian area.
Bill is a FANTASTIC host! His home is lovely and had everything my family and I needed for a wonderful few days. He recommended a few great restaurants and an awesome place to buy fresh seafood that we absolutely took advantage of. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!!
We spent 6 nights over Christmas at the 3bd/2bth home. It was just perfect! The house is lovely, as is the yard. Very clean, quiet, comfortable, and very well-equipped. The location is ideal, ESP. For families with kids - beaches, trails, attractions, all within easy driving distance, as are pharmacies, grocery stores, cafes etc. the house has a great kitchen for hobby cooks, and a delightful fresh-seafood shop nearby called Crabby Bill's. It is a great neighborhood/ area in general. Everything was lovely for us. Bill Clark, the host, is a very friendly and helpful host. We can't wait to be back in this area, and this house!
This house was perfect! The location was peaceful and beautiful yet close to everything! There was a nice sidewalk leading to the little town area, or you could take a quiet side street for a great walk along the water. All we had to do was show up with our clothes! The normal trip to Target to buy dish detergent, laundry powder, and other staples was not necessary. This house came ready to enjoy. The furnishings were lovely, and the tv was packed full of channels. Bill was a very helpful host, and we would gladly return to this house on our next visit to Vero Beach!
This city boy had a moment of trepidation arriving at Peacock cottage. It's set in an amazingly beautiful and lush spot, which, although just yards from the road, is every bit as quiet, peaceful and lovely as described. Bill was so kind. Our mere mention of bike rental interest prompted him to provide (voila!) 2 bikes. OK, mine was sized for an NBA Center but what a great thought! In fact, the cottage is beautifully and thoughtfully furnished. Very good kitchen supplies - we cooked many of our meals... The walk in shower is heavenly. Comfy living room, great for us to watch the '49ers win on MNF.Bill was so great to resolve early Wi-Fi issues which then worked fine for most of our stay.
As promised the adolescent peacocks came calling, honking flying and were a treat to the soul.
The bed is as small a queen as I've seen and has its own vocabulary of loudish squeeks and groans when settling in. I was nervous about that too at first but again- the overall experience of this beautiful space, the breezes off The Indian River completely made up for and soothed my city boy whining,,,and I slept just fine and plenty, thank you..
Lisa and I found a favorite place for happy hour, dinner, boozing and schmoozing: It's Squid Lips, north of the cottage, then East on Davis Street. Friendly folks and peel-and-eat Shrimps covered in Bay spice with cocktail sause to die for! Dolphins at play nearby, Egrets, Pelicans....
Lots of other little local finds too- even the mildly touristy Captain Hirams was a good choice to watch the Jets' sad defeat on Sunday afternoon. Pleasant crowd. Stick with Squid Lips for the food.
Treat night dinner for Lisa's birthday: Ocean Grill in Vero. I may be a grouper groupie! Dressed up a little and enjoyed the choice of drinks....
So, Bill- Mission accomplished for a really wonderful stay which met my Lisa's every Birthday expectation and actually exceeded mine. All the best to you and yours for safe fun Holidays and a sweet year.
Response from William:
If was a pleasure to host Gordon and Lisa and as result of Gordon's input regarding the queen size bed, we have now replaced it with a King!!
We welcome you back anytime with King size sleeping accommodations!
This is an awesome get away. Beautiful home in lovely tropical oasis with its own trio of peacocks wandering around. Spectacular views of the water and birds - ibis, herons, pelicans and more..
Fabulous white sandy beach, on-the-water restaurants and groceries less than 5-10 min away.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Old Palm. Bill was there when we arrived (as well as his peacock buddies). He showed us the property and made us feel very welcome. The house was immaculate and we felt at home immediately! A lot of time was spent on the wonderful deck and we were even able to use the grill that was onsite. I would recommend to anyone to go visit this beautiful house. It was secluded and quiet, what more can you ask for!
Response from William:
Thank you Katie! Glad you enjoyed. Look forward to seeing you again.
Old Palm is the only place to stay while in the Vero/Sebastian area! It's a gorgeous home over looking the intercostal with up to date amenities and furniture. The patio is massive and we spent ever evening on it! It's so close to the beach as well. Just a pop over the bridge. We also took a nice drive one day to the Kennedy Space center just an hr north. It's just a great place and Bill Clark is a wonderful host. Keep an eye out for the peacocks!
Response from William:
We look forward to seeing you again anytime!
We spent 5 days at Bill's Peacock Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The surroundings were lovely - landscaping, strolling peacocks, near the water.
Bill was a good host. he was friendly, available, responsive, but not at all intrusive.
We were new to the area and he was very helpful in providing recommendations for places to go, including several very good restaurants.
We'd definitely go back!
Response from William:
Love to see you again!
Our stay at the “Osprey Nest” was just perfect.
Our girls (4 &12) adored the Old Florida charm of the property, especially the resident peacocks that provided many special memories for them. The peacocks are very friendly, and as our hosts informed us, they have been there since they were babies!
The house was a perfect, private retreat to come home to after spending our days at the beach. The home is comfortably (beautifully) decorated, and well appointed. We did not need for a thing on our stay. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking a family meal, and there is also a grill for outdoor cooking.
As it was Easter weekend, our hosts made sure the resident Easter bunny paid a visit. The girls woke up to Easter eggs hidden in the backyard. It was such a thoughtful touch.
Thank you, Bill & Lisa, for a wonderful break from our busy lives.
We hope to be back very soon!
