My stay with José Carlos was superb! The location was ideal for hiking or cycling in all different directions including to various villages on the sea. The room was comfortable, excellent wi-fi and all the facilities for preparing meals. Best of all José Carlos took absolute care of my interests. When I wanted to mountain bike he arranged for a terrific cyclist who rents out excellent bicycles economically. When I wanted advice on what to do or where to go, he gave me it. And when I needed help to and from the airport, I got it. I had a wonderful Lanzarote (website hidden) gracias y voy avisar otros!
Jose Carlos and his wife were very friendly and the studio was perfectly clean and tidy. It has all you know for a short stay in the middle of this amazing island!! Thanks again for everything
I was surprised about such a hearty welcome, I can fully recommend that place to stay
Jose and Maria were very friendly and welcoming hosts who made sure we had everything we needed. Finca Molino is a lovely ground floor property with everything you could need for up to 4 people and a baby. The generous space consists of two bedrooms, a large living area with sofas and table & chairs, kitchen, bathroom and two further living areas (one with a sofa, one with tables & chairs). The kitchen was well equipped and we were able to cook a number of meals without a problem. It was a little cool in the evenings in January but there were plenty of blankets to keep warm.
You really need a car to make the most of a stay here but with one, it’s in a fantastic position to explore the whole island. We managed to get to all corners of Lanzarote and no drive was more than 45 minutes. Be wary of using a SatNav in Lanzarote. Ours certainly had a habit of taking us off the main roads and onto some scary dirt tracks. Do use the car hire company Jose suggests - we had no problems using them whatsoever and were able to collect and drop off the car from the airport.
Having said you need a car, there is a supermarket about 10 minutes walk away and two restaurants in town, one very close to the property. It would also be a great base for cycling if that’s your thing.
I can thoroughly recommend Finca Molino and I hope we’ll be back in the future.
WONDERFUL! Whether you're interested in relaxing, as a base for cycling, walking or simply getting to know the 'real' Lanzarote, José Carlos provides the perfect location.
The Molino de Tiagua is one of only 2 traditional windmills left on Lanzarote and the views from the property are stunning. I stayed for a week in January and couldn't have had a nicer, more friendly welcome. I was picked up from the airport, given a lovely bottle of local wine and made to understand that nothing would be too much to ask for.
An authentic Canarian paradise with a traditional warm Spanish welcome. Cannot recommend this place highly enough! I know I will be heading back ASAP!
PS: VERY BICYCLE FRIENDLY & A PERFECT TRAINING BASE.
We had a great holiday in the Finca Molina. The flat is a nice rommy place, decorated and furnished with loving detail. It has an indoor garden where we had breakfast in the sunshine every day. There is no central heating, so it did get slightly chilly on early January nights, but that was never a problem. Jose Carlos and Maria live next door and were darling hosts, whenever we needed anything, they went out of their way to help us. Especially their tipps on where best to spend New Year's Eve (in Teguise) were extremely appreciated!
The flat is central and right next to Timanfaya national park, so most of the attractions are close by. It is a bit of a drive to the beaches round the south end at Playa Blanca, but for hiking / biking / general sightseeing it is the perfect spot.
