Thank you Mikalina for the review. Mikalina booked the apartment for her coworkers, they were great guests. But just need to point out that Mikalina hasn't been to the apartment at all. In order to save my potential guests guessing what she meant by "rough edges", I'd like to clarify that there are some unfortunate homeless folks around sitting or sleeping on the other side of the street away from my apartment. I have lived in that neighborhood for years and nothing happened to me and I heard nothing about safety issues caused by the homeless folks. It's just exactly because of that reason the housing prices are a lot cheaper than the other areas. Other than that it's a street that's cleaned every day by the city, lots of trees on both sides, 3 blocks down to the south you find the city hall, library, museums, music halls, theaters etc, and the street is also full of great restaurants that are so popular that you often have to line up on the street to get in. And in fact, I would look for similar areas like that in other cities when I travel, central location, next to down town, with some "rough edges :) ", you get the best value and convenience together. Similar areas are like Shaw area in DC, Midtown area in Houston, Pioneer Square area in Seattle etc.

Thank you Jeremy for the honest review regarding the good and bad and things to be improved . Jeremy and his girl friends are great guests and they are definitely welcome back if they want.
However, I have to say they are new Airbnb users. The descriptions in my ad have clearly stated that the guests will be sleeping on a mattress placed on the floor, personally I feel very comfortable with my mattresses and sleeping on the floor.
Sorry about the cleaning that was not done to the best, but it was not always like that, it could be because of the cleaning person's one time negligence . I am making sure a stricter cleaning standard will be applied.
Regarding the feeling of safety in the neighborhood and the apartment, I do put some notes in the apartment to advise my guests how to exercise reasonable precautions, by no means I would want to make my guests feel paranoid. While you can never be too careful about your safety in any American downtown areas, nothing has ever happened to me, my roommates or my previous guests and most of my previous guests feel safe in the neighborhood and unbothered by the unfortunate homeless people around(see most of the previous reviews). While I would walk around the area at midnight or wee hours without worrying much which I did many many times, I completely understand why Jeremy chose to limit his time spending outside at night which I would probably do if I feel unsafe in a new unfamiliar area.
To enter the apartment, you need to use 2 keys, 1 key to open the front gate of the building and 1 key to open the apartment door.
Jeremy, I am glad that the apartment has been perfect for your situation. Thank you again.
