We had an absolutely perfect stay at Verity's large and lovely Victorian Villa. The room we stayed in was wonderfully decorated, spacious and warm (on a cold and rainy Scottish day). Her vintage free-standing bath (pictured) is a dream! That being said, the shower is pretty awesome too.
Verity was a great host: exceptionally flexible and hospitable, welcoming us with a pot of tea despite the fact that we arrived much later than expected. Her complimentary breakfast was also a great treat.
Although we only stopped over for a couple hours on this trip, if I return to Scotland, I would definitely like to stay with Verity again. To summarize: Super unique house, decorated with super nice things, filled with super interesting and kind people!
Our time at Verity's was short and sweet. The house is incredible, the room was massive, comfy and stylish. The bathroom is out of this world! Friendly people and a really interesting area not too far from town, with some good little places to eat closer by. Would definitely recommend.
We had a really good time. Very special ,beautifull ambience, amazing bathroom and a friendly , uncomplicated host. Thank you Verity
We really enjoyed our two night stay at Verity's very cool house. The room was spacious and light and had everything we needed. Verity was very welcoming and told us to help ourselves to freshly baked bread from the local bakery. The house had a lovely, friendly atmosphere with different people coming and going throughout our stay. We would thoroughly recommend the place to others. Thanks again! Jen & Liam
Second visit to stay with the Hocking household, this time with my Mum aged 78. She thought our couple of nights in the rough luxe villa were splendid. And I will be back again no doubt .....
We had such a lovely time staying at Verity's home. It was a really beautiful space and our room was very big with a great ensuite bathroom. Everybody who lived in the house was so friendly! There was bread, and delicious spreads out every morning. I would definitely recommend staying here!
I'm so glad that I chose Verity's house for my three month stay in Glasgow over the winter. Everybody is so warm, friendly and good company! The house is great with enough room so you don't feel as if you're tripping over each other and it is situated pretty close to the city centre (20-25 minute walk). The area is very quiet and nice with some good restaurants. I will definitely miss you all and hope to see you again some time soon :)
Great one night stay, very welcoming residents and a really pleasant house. An antidote to British suburbia and enough to make anyone jealous. Very much what airbnb is all about I think. Thanks for putting is up.
We stayed at Verity's amazing house in a very quiet and characterful area of Glasgow for two nights. It's located quite close to the Cathedral precinct, and Glasgow' amazing Necropolis, which was one of the things we particularly wanted to see. Parking our car was very easy, directly outside the house. We were welcomed with a hot drink and helpful information about finding the things we wanted to see during our visit (including a hand-drawn map, which got us to where we wanted to go on the other side of the city, with no difficulty.) As were were out quite late on both nights, we didn't see much of Verity, or the other residents in this relaxed house, but everyone was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our room was very spacious, and the bed very comfortable. The separate bathroom is also very spacious with a great shower. The whole house is an amazing space and is full of character.
We had a great stay at no. 4, the household were very friendly and welcoming. The bedroom was grand, sunlit and comfy, a lovely spot to read in during the afternoon. Our bathroom was luxurious. Downstairs we were greeted by the glowing logs in the woodburning stove, good coffee, homemade jam and proper bread from the local bakery. Blue skies, a snowy view over Glasgow and fine Scottish company, who could ask for more?
It has been a pleasure to host Verity and her family and friends. They have been friendly and easy, very correct and polite. I hope to have again an occasion to welcome them and I would certainly recommend them as Airbnb guests!
Very Recommendable People!!!
