We had a fantastic time at the Perry Family Farm. It's a perfect place to stay for a Vermont getaway. The room was lovely and came with a beautiful view. James gave the guests a very charming tour of the farm, sold us some great bacon, and even let me in on tips for what to do in England (where he's from and I live).
We had a wonderful time staying at the Perry Family Farm. The room was beautiful, bright, and clean and the view of the farm from our windows was stunning. We enjoyed having a relaxing breakfast in the garden while watching the cows and ducks! James gave us a great tour of the farm--- it's wonderful to meet a family who cares so deeply for their land and animals as the Perries do, and it shows not only in their farm, but also in their accommodations. They are not only amazing stewards of the land, but also such friendly hosts, and we hope to stay there again in the future!
This was a perfect winter getaway from the city. James and Laura were wonderful hosts. We can't wait to come back in the summer. And the bacon was amazing!
We had a wonderful stay on the farm with James and Laura. The room is beautiful, new, and the bed is very comfortable. The heated towel rack in the bathroom is a big plus, and the coffee in the morning was strong and tasty.
James introduced us to the animals, including Prudence the 500 lbs pig, which made us very happy.
The location was good for us, only 45 minutes to Sugarbush, and 25 to downtown Montpelier.
I hope we find an excuse to go back soon. Highly recommended.
Breathtaking views and lots of cute animals. I liked the heated bathroom floor and nice shower - overall great experience and want to come back soon!
The accommodations at the farm were quite comfortable and the setting is beautiful. We really enjoyed the animals and relaxing atmosphere. James and Laura are both lovely people;very helpful and generous with their time and breakfast supplies. We didn't venture out from the farm, as we made our dinner in our room, so we cannot comment on nearby entertainment/food options, but we took a wonder early morning walk along the country roads.
We heared that there are a lot of uniqe places to stay in Vermont, and we searched for exactly this kind of experiment. After staying at Perry's farm for two nights, we are now certain that this is that kind of place. The farm spirit is very otentic, quite and friendly (especially thanks to their lovely pigs and ships).
The room is very clean and cozy, and with great view to wake up to. The hosts are very friendly and helpful.
We would certainly return on our next visit.
We loved staying on James and Laura's farm -- only wish the stay could have been longer! The apartment was so comfortable with a great gas range stove, big refrigerator, plenty of living space and an ultra-comfy bed. We had access to their veggie garden and they provided us with farm eggs, coffee & bread for breakfast. And to top it off, James and Laura just seemed like genuinely kind people. They were nice enough to give us some tips on scenic driving routes and where to get local maple syrup on the cheap. We can't wait to stay with them again.
We had an excellent stay at James & Laura's beautiful farm. The setting and views are outstanding - rural Vermont at its finest! The large variety of animals wandering around the property really added to the experience! Our newly built room was tastefully decorated and cozy, we couldn't have asked for a more comfortable place.
James & Laura were great hosts, nice and relaxed which we appreciated. The coffee and delicious croissants each morning were a nice touch. Regarding activities in the area, we hiked Stowe Pinnacle (moderate level, great views from the top), explored the state capital Montpelier, had a nice meal at an Italian place called Sarducci's, and explored the quaint Labor Weekend parade at Northfield.
Overall, I would highly recommend this place if you want to 'get away from it all'. We'll certainly be back.

My husband and I spent 4 wonderful days in early September at the Perry Family farm, and we cannot say enough good things about our stay! James and Laura were amazing hosts...they set up a grill for our use, offered us fresh veggies from their garden, and we bought delicious meat and eggs raised on their farm! Being surrounded by the lush, rolling hills and all the livestock helped us to relax into our farmstay experience right away. The apartment was very well appointed, clean , and super comfortable! They graciously provided superb ground coffee and fresh milk four our breakfast, and we enjoyed using their great kitchen for cooking during our stay. Another plus was that when the sliding glass door was closed, we could not hear any sounds from the outside...we were amazed that it blocked out the sounds of the roosters crowing in the morning! James and Laura also informed us about the New World Celtic Music Festival that was going on while we were there, and we spontaneously spent the evening enjoying the festival with our hosts! We loved our stay and plan on returning to visit our new friends at the farm. Thanks James and Laura! ~September 2013
