avid travelers | dog lovers | food fanatics | entrepreneurs
We are a young married couple in our thirties. We've traveled to 39 countries between the two of us, 25 of them together and counting. We typically travel as backpackers and while we love to be comfortable, will enthusiastically "rough it" in the quest for a unique adventure. We have all sorts of stories that started out with something along the lines of, "Hey, that sounds cool." We have two favorite aspects of travel - meeting/learning about people and trying/enjoying as much food we can physically handle. We combine these passions through a street food tour company in Mexico City, Real Deal Food Tours.
We met and married in Atlanta, GA, backpacked for a bit as newlyweds and have lived in Mexico DF since 2013 with our two mini dachshunds, Chicha and Lucho. Marco grew up in the city and is an incredible source of information on the culture, food, history, etc. Marco spends his time on food and photography while Kristin works on our adventure blog and reads. Chicha and Lucho sleep, snuggle and steal treats. We make our living as entrepreneurs and make our life about the experiences we have/create every day. We're big believers that 'the best is yet to come' and this drives us to try new things, take risks and explore in all aspects of our life.
We believe that the best thing in the world is to be exposed to new people, places and things. When you can connect with a local the experience is so much better. We love to share our favorite bakeries, coffee shops, restaurants, street stands, markets, etc. that are tucked within our neighborhood of North Roma, plus the must see cultural stops and the best ways to get around the city. Mexico DF is an amazing place to visit and we love for people to get the most out of their time here.
Travelers who stay with us can expect a clean, comfortable and safe space to come home to and two hosts who will help make your time in DF special. We work a lot, but are always available for questions and conversation over a strong cup of coffee.
