It was a great experience. The apartment is very spacious and cozy with large french windows.
The apartment of Stephane is very nice and comfortable. The area is great and we enjoyed the restaurants and shops a lot. Very close to musea, shopping streets etc.
Overall great trip. We loved the neighborhood with it's abundance of boutique shops, cafes, art galleries. It was a very short walk to and from large and small metro stops so we were able to get around paris with ease from this location.
We arrived late and Jonathan waited for us with the key, he even came out to the streets to try and find us as we were a bit lost.
The apartment was clean and we really enjoyed all the art books on the shelves. It was fun to go to a museum and then come back and look up a particular artist.
The only complaint I would have is that the kitchen is not equipped for actual cooking. While it did have the nespresso machine, oven and microwave which all worked well, I couldn't find a pot or pan to cook in. I typically rent with kitchens so I have the freedom to prepare food at home a few times during a stay (and I rented this apartment for this reason). I was only able to prepare frozen pizzas which was a bit disappointing. I also couldn't find a cutting board so even cutting limes or baguettes was done on a plate (difficult) or the countertop (yikes!).
I would give it 5 stars if the kitchen was better equipped. Everything else was awesome!
We were welcomed by Stephane's friend Jonathan who was really nice. He showed us around the apartment and how everything works. The apartment was just as described and very comfortable. The location was perfect and the neighbourhood was lovely. We recommend the pizza place around the corner Pink Flamingo. It was delicious. Hope to be back again :)
Stephane's beautiful book-filled apartment is the ideal base to explore Paris. It's a spacious, funky pad right in the cobblestone heart of Le Marais, the coolest part of the city. Stephane and his friend Jerome were both super-helpful and I had a wonderful stay. Could not recommend this place highly enough. I'll be back for sure!
Stephane's place was great. He arranged for his friend, Jerome, to meet us and show us how things worked.
Roussels flat is located in a very nice neighborhood. Shops restaurants and museums are all close by.
The flat was clean and his helper received us on time and with a smile.
Two notes however, for taller persons the bed is at the small side. My 1.95 meters do not fit in there!
Also, I was a bit disappointed that when I told that the coffee machine broke down it could not be fixed/ replaced during my stay.
I rather rent apartments over hotel rooms, but then I do need my morning coffee! But thanks for the stay Roussel.
Wonderful flat in a great part of town.
