Lovely place and hosts- the perfect balance between hosts being available for questions and not at all intrusive. Clean, simple and practical. Our family (3 small children) really enjoyed a short two-day stay at Sweet Farm. We highly recommend it as a perfect getaway from New York.
Larissa was a great host--extremely responsive, helpful, and patient with us despite the numerous change in plans. The apartment was lovely and we felt very warm and cozy spending a cold winter night there by the fire. The booklet describing the farm and surrounding areas was heartwarming and we loved that there were enough beds and futons for 6 adults to sleep comfortably. We had to rush out in the morning but we went to greet the ponies who were super friendly and unbearably cute. Looking forward to coming back for a longer stay next time!
The flat was very clean and very well located, close to the F, G and R station.
Everything was well organized before our arrival.
For sure, we will return in larissa's home during our next trip to New York City.
Thank's for everything xxx
As described, well renovated, neat, comfortable, cozy fire. Great place to stay for families with children. Love the accessibility of the animals, the children spent so much time with them running around and feeding them. They loved the goats, chickens and ponies. Nice walks around the property, spotted a beaver and his lodge, went hiking in Greenville and had a great lunch in Hudson. So nice to spend a few days without tv and wifi! And thanks to Chris for his help!
Both Larissa and Chris promptly answered our many questions ahead of time and made sure we had information about the apartment, the farm, and the surrounding areas. It was invaluable to be alerted to bring boots for tramping around the farm. On the day of our arrival, Chris texted us that he'd leave the door open, and to settle in and he’d be by to check on us after he did evening farm chores. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a cozy, bright cabin all made up for our stay, and a carton of six freshly-laid eggs on the kitchen table, which we were especially excited about because we were going to cook a polenta and egg dish for our supper that night. Chris was very amenable to our bringing our own Christmas tree and rearranging his furniture to accommodate it.
The listing description was totally accurate, and even though we were there at Christmastime, we got to walk around the farm. A highlight was feeding a Christmas Eve dinner of carrots to the ponies, horses, goats, and one of the two gorgeous bunnies.
The neighborhood was ex-urban to rural, and very quiet - just what we were looking for. Our hosts had brochures and information about local activities, and good suggestions even before we got there about places to eat and visit.
We wish our stay could have been longer, and would visit there again in a heartbeat!
Stay was excellent , the place has everything you need for a cozy weekend in the country. We stayed there in dec, kept warm with the fire place. We did not miss anything , perfect size kitchen to cook your meals. Nice stroll through the farm, and most adorable ponies:)
Staying at Larissas place in Brooklyn was great!! It was such a cute place in the heart of park slope. What an amazing neighbourhood! I was only there for 2 nights but I got to see alot! She is so close to the subway that I even made it to Manhattan for the day - only a 15 minute ride! Larissa got me in touch with her friend Sandye that runs this air BNB apartment ( as Larissa and her partner moved to the country! ) Sandye was very helpful and easy to get in touch with! She gave us a whole bunch of suggestions of cool spots to check out in the neighbourhood. I will definitely try to book this place again when I come back to New York!
The place is set back off the street and that is very nice as it is much quieter than one might expect. The place was clean and quite spacious. It would accommodate three individuals very nicely. The main bedroom is large with lots of storage. There is a couch in the living room that would have been fine to sleep on and another bed in the second bedroom, which is very small but big enough for the bed with a little space left over. The kitchen is large and well equipped. This was probably the nicest feature. There is a nice large fridge and plenty of counter space for working. The bathroom is small but perfectly adequate.
There is a lockbox with keys right next to the door so getting in the apartment was seamless. It was easy to find and close to corner grocers and several restaurants.
Overall, it was in a great location for us as it is close to where our family lives and the space itself is great. We plan to return soon and will definitely book it again if it is available.
Myself and a small group of friends stayed with Larissa while we visited the Catskills for a wedding. Everything was perfect. The house was cute and charming, and it did us all good to put down our phones for a few days. It was wonderful to be so close to animals and the countryside. Larissa was a fantastic host - very laid back and easy to communicate with. She also made sure we had a tour of the farm on our first day. The fire pit was also a real bonus. Would recommend this place to anyone hoping for a bit of countryside escapism.
A wonderful place to stay for families with children. The animals were friendly and accessible, and Larissa was patient, warm and welcoming! The girls loved riding Bugsy, and feeding and grooming her. We went apple picking 10 min from the farm. Great weekend!
