I am 25 years old, love to be outside and around other people. I am from western massachusetts and love to travel.
Overall, we had a great time. Great location close to North Adams and nice neighborhood. My biggest issue was the place could be cleaner top to bottom, especially for the money you're paying. If it was $50 bucks a night, I wouldn't have been so picky.
The reservation was canceled 29 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
John was really quick to respond any time I messaged him and his place was great! Super close to MassMOCA, Williams College and Mt. Greylock - everything we wanted to see.
QUIET, PEACEFUL....EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED.
John was quick to respond and most accommodating to the possible prospect of two friends also spending one night of our two. The house is in a good location to anyone wanting to explore the area. However, we did note that the bathroom really needed a more thorough cleaning (more soaps, hand and bath, too)and a top sheet on the double bed, not merely the comforter, is really a required element for us. It may be that John having had guests the night before we arrived and working all weekend left him little time to do the cleaning necessary. The rest of the house was clean.
But for a bare bones and still an attractive place in a great location and at a very reasonable rate, this is a good bet.
John's house was clean and comfortable, and I found the rate to be fair. I would recommend his house for anyone looking to stay in the Northern Berkshires on a budget. The shower had some issues but John was prompt in responding and fixed it while I was out.
John's house is quiet and clean. Hot water in the shower/tub and comfortable bed. A lot of DVD movies and a big TV in the living room and a big and comfortable sofa to snuggle up. Bring your own blanket and set of sheets if you plan for an extra person to use the sofa as a bed.
Large table to eat at in the dining area if you are inclined to cook in the very large kitchen, which has all the utensils and pots needed to cook with, and a coffee maker. But no coffee or tea. Bring your own.
Very close to MOCA and to Bennington college in Vermont. We had great communication with John, who's quick to respond and very kind and helpful.
House? Only the first floor open but plenty spacious, clean, and welcoming!
Berkshires? Close to everything in the Berkshires...Adams is quiet...but very pleasant.
John's info and communications were very helpful.
Nice little 1-bedroom apartment - a bit spartan, but given the bargain price, not a problem at all. Plus huge flat-screen TV and lots of DVDs to choose from. Also, it's not easy to find places that will allow a cat, so we were happy to find one.
The location is GREAT - so close to Mass MoCA and Mt. Greylock reservation. Check out Brewhaha! coffee shop in North Adams.
John was a pleasure to work with - extremely communicative and helpful.
Be advised: no internet!
John's place was swell! We had a great time there! Close to beautiful hikes in Mt. Greylock and Savoy State Forest, and only a few minutes away from Tanglewood. We'd stay there again.
It was a pleasure to rent the house to john. He left the house just as he found it and would let him stay here anytime.
