Very friendly and welcoming, we had a great stay in this neighbourhood which is so convenient for Hyde Park and the west end.
The apartment is light although a basement, well appointed and spacious enough with nice sparse and simple furnishing.
Very pleased to have found tis place, thanks Rachel.
Lovely stay at this well-situated and kept basement apartment nearby Marble Arch and Hyde Park. My last minute request was handled promptly by Rachel, a most accommodating hostess.
I give the experience high marks for being flexible and accommodating to my schedule. Apartment was lovely: well maintained, bright, and lovely simple decor. Comfy bed, quiet, and lots of amenities (including laundry.)
Location is fabulous. Went for afternoon runs in Hyde Park, Kensington, and St. James to the Thames. Great market around the corner: Green Valley (recommended by Rachel.) I had coffee (also around the corner) and morning breakfast from Gail's, w/plenty of different (good) choices for dinner nearby.
Also, a 10-minute walk to Paddington for the Heathrow Express made for easy coming/going, as did the nearby (2 minute walk) to Marble Arch (Red/City Line) Underground.
Very highly recommended.
Rachel was the perfect host, despite the fact that she wasn't at London she made our stay very easy by sending us all the neecessary information about the area, the restaurant near by (Roti Chai, Kurobuta, very very nice), how to get there, she always answer all our questions as fast as possible. The area was also perfect close to Oxford street, to Hyde Park, an increadible number of buses lead to the neighberhood, it's also very safe as Tony Blair is just living across the street ;-) The flat is as described in the pictures, even better, the bed is so comfy, you will find all that you need, plus if you have a baby you would enjoy finding all baby furnitures (cot, baby shair, toys, tub for bath) which made our stay so easy! We would definetly come back!
It was our second time in Rachels apartment. And i can not not recommend it highly enough. We hope to stay again very soon. It is by far the best location in London and the comfiest bed that we have ever stayed in. Rachel is a charming and warm host.
Rachel was really nice when we arrived at the apartment . She showed us around, gave us information on everything we needed and told us about shopping and food. The apartment was clean and neat, comfortable and exactly as we expected. We are very happy with our stay .
This was my first AirBnB experience, I was a little nervous about it but since I know the area (3rd time in London) and the reviews I read were good I decided to make the leap. And was not diappointed. The apartment was clean and specious and the location is amazing! It's right next to Hyde Park and the center but in a quite street with a really good atmosphere.
Rachel was also great! very helpful and welcoming. Our flights arrived and left during the evenings. And she welcomed us at night and let us leave our luggage at her home way after check out time.
All in all I would say this was my favourite accomodation in London and I would defintly try to book it next time if I'll come to London again.
Excellent stay in this lovely flat. Great standard of accommodation in a perfect quiet position around the corner from Marble Arch. If it's good enough for Tony and Cherie.....it's good enough for us! All joking aside, we would definitely come back again. One has to consider what you save in transport costs being so close to Oxford Street, Picadilly etc. Argentinian restaurant on Connaught Street was excellent as were warm and soft bed sheets of the flat. Tempting to rate it badly so that it is more likely to be available for our next stay!!! A++++++++
Rachel was a great host and made our first Airbnb experience a good one.
She was very helpful with advice and obliging to our requests and many questions!
Rachel was very responsive to queries before our stay and the apartment was just as clean, sophisticated and well-located as stated!
It's right in the city centre but just the right amount of distance away from the real hustle and bustle of London.
The area feels very safe, it was a close walk to the tube and Hyde Park.
The bed was amazing and absolutely perfect after a long day of exploring.
Thank you for making our first Airbnb experience a very memorable one Rachel and we would definitely recommend your apartment to fellow travelers.
We stayed in Rachel's flat over Thanksgiving week, while visiting our son who is studying abroad in London. From her first email, Rachel was so welcoming and did everything she could to make our stay just wonderful! She let us know the best way to get there from the airport, and about how long that would take. She greeted us with a big smile, and toured the flat with us, explaining where everything was, and how everything worked. Then she gave us great advice on where to get a great cup of coffee and other neighborhood highlights. Whether via email or phone, she was always quick to reply, and very helpful.
The flat is gorgeous and so well appointed. I fell in love with it online, and was not disappointed! The building has old-world charm, with 5-star modern luxuries. The kitchen has super modern appliances, the bathroom fixtures are brand new with a heated towel rack, and the bed, pillows and linens were sooooo comfortable, we both let out a big "ahhhh" when we happily sank into them!! My husband even noted the brand of linens and found them online once we were home, that's how nice they were!
The flat was so sunny and cheerful, don't worry about it being called a basement flat. We were only there for three days, but it would be perfect for a longer stay with the fully equipped kitchen and a DVD for nights at home. Full cable, a little library. I could have moved in!
The location was perfect for us. It was close to our son who was staying on Edgeware Road, a minute's walk to shopping on Oxford Street, Hyde Park (the Winter Festival was amazing!) and the Central Line Marble Arch tube station, which gets you to all the major attractions. It's also only a 5 minute walk to the Edgeware Rd. station, with access to other tube lines.
Rachel is a wonderful host, and her flat is cozy, luxurious and perfectly situated. I miss it! I look forward to returning to London and know exactly where we will stay!
This was our first airbnb experience and it was just perfect. Do not hesitate to book your stay with Rachel!
Rachel's apartment is clean and neat and the bed is incredibly comfortable! ! We both slept very well, the bed linens were the highest quality. After long days racing around the city, this was the perfect quiet retreat and an easy walk from Marble Arch.
Communication was Rachel was easy.
Very good experience and I can recommend her place highly.
With pleasure I will give Rachel and her family my best recommendation.
Rachel came with 3 lovely children. The oldest was interested in Iceland and the Icelandic language.
They respected all the rules and left the apartment clean and everything in place. Thanks for stopping by Rachel and family.
We welcome you anytime you may be back on a trip to Iceland.
My best wishes to you all.
Mrs Rachel, Mr Markus and their children were so cude and funny with me. it was a pleasure meeting them all.
an amazing family.
very nice and clean guests! no headache, no drama!
I have known Rachel since university. She is a delightful person and one of life's natural hosts. She has the knack of making everyone feel welcome, has a wonderful sense of humour and is easy and fun company. She is full of energy, creativity and kindness. Rachel is highly reliable and trustworthy to a fault. I have to admit, that she does have a weakness for a properly made martini and is a perfectionist when it comes to baking!
