Tim was very welcoming and flexible on our arrival time. The "Old Lockup" met all our expectations. It was a very charming bnb making use of all the old charms of the magistrate house. It was a less than 5 minute walk into Wirksworth which was a very quaint old village with lovely shops. We recommend Le Mistral for dining out. The breakfast in the morning was excellent. The scenery of the Peak district surrounding the bnb is spectacular.
Tim was a very relaxed host, and makes a delicious breakfast. The old lockup was a lovely, peaceful place to stay & the surrounding area is beautiful.
We had a great time. The place is really unique as it was an old police station. The room was nice and Tim was a lovely host. Very responsive before we arrived, he prepared a nice breakfast, and gave us great hiking tips for the area.
Tim made us very welcome with the offer of tea as he greeted us at the door. The neighbourhood is quiate and very friendly people, with beautiful surrounding country side. The room very clean with comfy bed, breakfast freshly cooked in cosey dining room.would stay again, thanks for a great stay tim.
Totally unique guest house, superb room and great service. The local independent cinema was also an excellent evening out.
Beautiful place in a lovely village, Tim owns a great BnB and was a really good host. Calm, sociable and attentive. Would stay again
Thanks Adam and I appreciate the feedback too.
We had a wonderful time staying in The Old Lock Up at Wirksworth. Tim was a warm and welcoming host, the rooms were cosy and clean and the breakfast was a great way to start each day. Tim was helpful in providing tickets for Chatsworth House and directions.
We will definitely be coming back next time we are in Derbyshire.
Cheers Jon hope you enjoyed the rest of your visit and look forward to seeing you again.
Tim was a great host. We enjoyed very much the breakfast and dinner. The rooms are cozy and the whole experience was memorable. Thanks!
Thanks Joan it was a pleasure having you all here.
Tim was an obliging, congenial host. He offered an evening meal - we were very glad we accepted as we got 3 courses for £ 25 per head, which we thought was good value. And he is a good cook at breakfast time also.
Very clean accommodation; quirky character of the building, sitting room with a real fire; cup of tea made by him on demand; these are the things we enjoyed most
Thanks Rick and for the feedback too. Hope you and the family had a great New Year.
Our stay at the Old Lock up was just what the doctor ordered. . Quiet , clean and with a real air of history. Tim is a wonderful host and chef.
His food is locally sourced and good English fare.
The rooms are a decent size, decorated lovingly and come with all manner treats to make your stay more comfortable .
The area is great for hiking, running and mountain biking .
A really good experience with traditional twist.
Thanks for that hope to see you all up here again soon.
Tim is a great host and The Old lockup is an amazing B+B. full of old world charm and Tim keeps it that way. He does some wonderful food and uses nearly all fresh ingredients, to make it. I loved my stay there and the magistrates room is a dream, just the bed alone is worth it. Would recommend going and visiting him and enjoying all his place has to offer
