I would like to thank Rita and Roberto for their great hospitality and helpfulness. They came with the key even though it was late evening, and they had put food to the morning in the fridge and we could call or text them at any time; they helped us a lot about many infos. F.ex: when we wanted to take the train from Bellano to Milano; they gave us train time schedule. And they told us what to see in Bellano.
Bellano is a small cosy village placed on the lake bank in the northern part of the Como lake. Here very beautiful, with the view to other small villages on the opposite side of the lake and the mountains that surrounds the lake. It´s a lovely and beautiful place. In the town and around the city there is a lot of waterfalls; there is one very close to the appartment, 3 minutes walk! Also there is a lot of walking trails ´round the city to see the churches in the town. The appartment and town is build up on a mountain side, so the road up and down is a spinning trip :)
Down at the waterfront the shops and restaurants are located, also the ferry to sail around the lake is down there. There is a big playground also down there and a river going into the lake is located there; we had great fun down there.
The appartment has all you need: a big bedroom and a ok sized kidsroom; where we had our three kids to sleep together. There´s a big livingroom and a kitchen with all you need if you cook a bit yourself. There´s also two terraces with the greatest and most beutiful view over the village, lake and mountains: especially the nightview is spectacular: the small villages on the opposite lakeside looks like small stars, and the light on the churches is beautiful.
The appartment is located halfway up, and you can drive down to the lake or take the beautiful downhill walkpath, past the graveyard, and very old church and the magnificent Orrido: a waterfall and a sight; a must see thing!!
We took two days to Milano. First day by train (recommed unless you know Milano very well!!); the station is located central Bellano and you park there for free!! 1 hour and a quarter trip through mountains and along the lakeside :) till we reached the Milano central station; just go down Buenos Aires str. find a park or shop or (email hidden)cond day we droved by car to San Siro stadium (disappoinment!! not worth the money, but if you´re a hardcore Inter or Milan fan you´ve too). We parked nearby and took the metro into city center (half an hours trip); found a nice area near the Dome (must see!!!) and a park with a playground near the castle.
In Bellano it´s great fun to continue up the road past the appartment, up the mountain to the other small villages. Or go to Lecco: the nearest "big city" if the weather isn´t that good there is a shoppingcenter there.
All in all I can only warm recommed Rita and Roberto as hosts and the appartment and Bellano as a vacation goal...even if you´re palnning a trip to Milano but don´t like to stay in the city all the time!!!!
Thanks again to Rita and Roberto for all your kindness and helpfulness.
See you again :)
