We are both originally from London moving out to Cornwall in the 80's. We fell in love with country life and never went back to the big smoke. After 17 years raising our family in Liphook, Hampshire our two 'boys' now in their 30's flew the nest and we followed the vision God gave us and moved to Wales. Yet another adventure into a place we'd never been and we've never looked back. They say this is God's country and we just love this glorious countryside. So many beaches, coves and little bays to explore.
And we just love walking, and walking and walking, along with bird watching, dolphin spotting and chasing the seals.
A redundancy from a life long career in the mid 90's encouraged a life change and we both got involved with child care and family support. It sort of went with our passion for children and youth work which were both involved with for many years and it all became part of this journey.
Working with disfunctional families and children in care led us to become foster parents creating yet another chapter in our lives.
Coming to Wales was an unknown and which is still happening. Our first visit to ADFER, standing at the top of the drive, confirmed we were here to stay.
We were told that animals would play their part. Having only had dogs before rearing and breeding pigs, sheep and cows along with a few chucks just added to the excitement. Oh, and don't forget Leia, Sid and Luke our three wonderful sibling Jack Russell's. There were three but Luke unfortunately sky walked and didn't return. But Little Molly, Leia's Jackopoodle off-spring is now with us.
And then along came the development of y COPA, a very special place 'of excellence' for all to enjoy, gain respite and be restored, with a very special story behind it.....but we'll tell you that one, if you like, when you get here. It could be the start of something very exciting in your lives and you never know, you might get to taste some of those beautiful fresh eggs. We'll put the kettle on.
He says a vision is given to you for it's life and it never stands still. We still have the vision and every day brings something new. We love living here and will never stop thanking our God for what he has done.
