We were 10 friends visiting Barcelona for the week end and we had a great time here in Marc's flat. Situation is good, about 20mn from Las Rablas. The small default of the flat, he has no living room and no sofa.
When we first booked this place, we did not realise that it was run by an agency and not an apartment owner. When asking for directions to the place via email, we were given the address and told to look it up ourselves instead. We were also told to call when we reached the airport...and when we did, the person on the line said to call back again when we arrive and her colleague will pass us the keys. Total waste of international phone bills.
The location of the apartment was near the Universitad metro - and also a stop which the airport bus stops, so that was good. It was also near the Ramblas and many good food places. However, it was also on a seemingly dodgy lane where there are many immigrants and bar crowd. On the first day we arrived, there were police cars and what seemed like a drunk fight on the neighbouring street. The apartment was on the second floor - the neighbourhood was constantly noisy so it's not recommended if you want a quiet place.
On the apartment itself, place was cozy but take note that there were no basic supplies of anything at all. There were 2 towels, but that's about it. Basic things like toilet paper and tissue were not available. The door to the apartment was a real challenge. On our first night, we tried 10 minutes just to try and open the door. (It was an old door and you needed to pull/push at a certain timing) Note that the hot water only lasts maybe 5 minutes. After which, the water turns warm, and then cold.
When we enquired on wifi in the room, Marc replied saying that "there is an Internet Key that costs 5€ par day". However, turned out that it means buying a drink at the shisha bar downstairs and tapping into their wifi.
Overall, the sense of security and treatment from the agency that was handling this place didn't leave us too impressed. Would pick another place to go to the next time. The best that that happened was the restaurant next door along Ferlandina street called Imprevist which we stumbled upon. Really awesome food and since we were so near, we could go back a couple of times!
