My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay of three nights in the Casita. It was the perfect size for two of us, and looks just like the photo (cute, very clean, spacious entryway). We especially appreciated the information about the Casita, wifi, and nearby restaurants clearly posted, and the nice little touches the hosts thought to provide (coffee!, shampoo/conditioner, fresh linens).
The neighborhood was great; seemed very quiet and safe. In short, we highly recommend the Casita!
Patty and Dave's Casita was a perfect place for a long weekend stay in Tucson! My wife and I were visiting for a wedding that was close by and the location of the casita couldn't be beat. The space was Super Clean, Bright, and Airy! I would recommend Patty and Dave's Casita to anyone planning on stopping in Tucson for a few days.
We had no chance to see our hosts as they were called out of town, but:
when we arrived we were provided by phone with the access-code of the door.
The casita was very nice and cosy, private and clean.
Very friendly neighbourhood and absolutely quiet and private surroundings. A bit small, but we enjoyed staying there.
Very friendly and welcoming people. Quiet neighborhood.
Patty and Dave's unit is really cute and located in a nice part of the city -- a quiet neighborhoood, but with easy access to whatever you might want to do. Even though the casita is small, it is very private, comfortable, and has absolutely everything you could want. Patty was right there to greet us and help us settle in. I'm sure we'll be back.
Dave and Patty were away on business when I arrived, and they invited me to make myself at home in their absence. Since the availability of a patio was prominently mentioned in the listing, I set up a small table outside the room for working on my computer and fielding occasional business calls. The room is relatively small and has no table or desk, so doesn't really lend itself to activities other than sleeping.
When Dave and Patty returned two days later, I discovered that they work at home, and their voices reverberate throughout the house. Again, not the best space for doing what I generally do on trips, which is do some business from the space I rent. Since they didn't tell me otherwise, I continued to use the patio as described. Then one morning, in the middle of an important call, Dave ordered me off the patio because he said I was scaring their cat away. I told him I was on an important call, but he insisted I leave immediately, complaining that I had "parked" myself on the patio and so drove the cat away. I was definitely shocked and put off at being talked to in this way and avoided contact with Dave and Patty until I left several days later. I suggest that they make this restriction clear from the outset, rather than communicating it in what I certainly felt was an abrupt and unfriendly way.
Since this was my first experience with Airbnb, it prompts me to wonder what we're signing up for when we book a room. For $69 a night, I expected kindness and hospitality and a generally quiet atmosphere, as well as a space that I could use as I would a hotel room. In fact, I felt like I was an intruder in someone else's home. Perhaps my expectations were unrealistic. I certainly would not describe this as a quiet retreat, though I'm also sure that Dave and Patty have the best intentions and take pride in their home. In the end, I can only really say that what they offer was not what i needed. I wish them all the best.
We had a great stay for one night. The owners are very friendly & accommodating! The little house is very clean, well stocked, and comfortable. You have your own entrance with a lock code so you don't need to bother the owners at all. We would definitely stay here again in the future.
We really enjoyed our 2 nights that we spent at this quaint casita. It's in a safe, older neighborhood in Tucson and the location is perfect to get downtown, to hiking trails, to Target, and to yoga. The casita was very comfortable and clean. It has a small fridge, stove, and microwave that is perfect for making breakfast and a cold lunch. Remember to bring towels, I forgot mine but a quick trip to Target solved that! Also, they have wifi and a great check in system so no need to worry if you are arriving later at night. Next time I am back in Tucson, I would definitely stay here again.
Patty was warm, friendly, responsive, helpful and respectful of my privacy. The casita was clean, cozy, very quiet and in a good neighborhood.
I appreciated having a microwave and small frig. Very good experience!
Dave and Patty were excellent hosts. They made me and my daughter feel comfortable. Additionally they gave us helpful info about the surrounding area. Overall a very solid experience.
