First off, my name's Michael Hiraoka. Grew up in Golden, CO, and just moved back after 8 years of rambling around during my 20's mostly in Maui and the Pacific Northwest. Seattle might get a bad rap, but man, I love that place. So beautiful it's almost ridiculous.
I'm coming up to Telluride to attend and write an article about The Science of Compassion Conference. Lots of really smart people getting together to talk about their research into Compassion. Stanford, Harvard, Princeton, and many other heady schools will be represented there. Here's the website if it peaks any interest. I'll be interviewing the keynote, Dr. James R. Doty. I'm generally a very easy-going guy, love meeting new people and engaging in good conversation. Obviously interested in the human experience... I've got a BA in Religious Studies from CU-Boulder, have lived on a Buddhist Retreat Center, and am now pursuing a Masters in Consciousness degree.
Love Colorado... hiking, biking, playing in nature. Also recently have gotten into golf and bowling. Got to prepare for those old-age pasttimes!
I'll be writing an article for Science of Mind Magazine. My first paid article, so very excited.
Hope that gives you a sense!
