Casa Diggs is a dream come true! My husband booked us in and it was our first experience using air bnb. We did not know what to expect as far as air bnb goes and were hoping that all of the amazing reviews and pictures were legit. The host, Peter, was excellent to deal with. We were given directions on how to get there and where to stop for groceries along the way. Upon arriving we met with Judy, the property manager, who is a delightful person. Judy took us through the house and explained how everything works and where everything is, that is after we picked our jaws up off the floor! The photos do not do this place justice! This is the nicest accommodation we've experienced so far. The views are stunning from every single room of the home. Everything we needed was available. The bed is amazing, sooo comfortable! We loved the big open shower as well. This is a very romantic house. You can see that the host is an artist/photographer. All of his touches throughout are beautiful and very well done! It was actually refreshing not having a tv, microwave, toaster or dishwasher! It goes to show you how easy it is to live without these power sucking devices and it had zero impact on our stay. There is Wifi if needed. We loved having the french press for fresh coffee every morning and utilized the bbq well. The pool was awesome and I loved bobbing around in the floating lounger! It was convenient having another washroom beside the pool and the outdoor shower was totally cool! If you were to travel with another couple the guest house would be perfect, having it's own bathroom and completely separate from the main house allowing for privacy. We did eat at Buzzards, a short walk down the road, and definitely recommend the Burrito! Best we've ever had! The security guards were extremely nice, Jose and Placido, and there was another guard down below the house that we did not have the pleasure of meeting, but who definitely made us feel safe and secure. The views, as previously mentioned, are spectacular, you wake to the incredible sunrise each morning and can easily drift back to sleep if you're not ready to get up! In the evenings the sunsets from the kitchen window, or anywhere on the patio were breathtaking. Big bonus was watching the whales out front each night around 4pm, before sunset, or even at times in the morning. What a complete gift! We watched pods of them, breaching and slapping their tails! The area is warm and welcoming, the neighbours are great, we will definitely return. Recommend taking a drive down the dirt road past Buzzards along the coast, just take your time, the road is a bit rough in spots but totally driveable, again ridiculously beautiful beaches, views, check out Zacs for lunch, great food & staff there as well!
Peter was a wonderful host! The property was immaculate and a great escape from the hustle and bustle that can sometimes accompany vacations; the house was off the beaten path in a wonderful location. However, after a big storm, the dirt roads were washed out and filled with some pretty big puddles -- I would definitely recommend some sort of SUV for the trek to his house if rain is in the forecast.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and everything about the house! The BBQ, pool, views, and having Buzzard's close-by all made for a very relaxing and easy stay. Peter's photography and decorations throughout the house were an added bonus -- it felt like a gallery! Judy, the property manager, was extremely helpful and friendly throughout our stay as well. We can't wait to return!
This place is just perfect. Beautiful views of the ocean, and a nice-sized pool with a great BBQ. Kitchen has everything you need and the master bedroom is huge. Loved the integrated music system. Spent each night star-gazing with amazing clear skies.
Peter was responsive and easy to deal with in the build up to our trip, and Judy was extremely helpful and friendly.
What a beautiful home! The location is stunning and although the road to the subdivision is gravel followed by potholes with pavement around them, we had no trouble easily navigating in an average sized car. The house itself is simply breathtaking, ocean views from every room and a very peaceful and quiet neighborhood. Walking on the beach in the morning and afternoon we were completely alone - a real treat if you want to get away from it all. The house has everything needed including Wifi, fully equipped kitchen and even an outdoor shower, which was amazing! Peter and his property manager, Judy, were easy to work with and friendly, the guards to the property were terrific and even started calling us by name! I hope to return again soon!!
Peter's house was so beautiful! The photos are exactly as it is in real life. Had a lot of fun swimming and bbqing - thank you so much!
This place was amazing the pictures didn't do it justice. Peter was quick to respond to all my questions and was great to deal with. Judy the property manager was a pleasure as well. I will definitely be booking casa diggs again sometime soon. Thank you Peter for a wonderful stay!
Peter's house is fantastic. I just got back from spending a week there with my boyfriend, and we had a great time. The pool is beautiful, the outdoor space is amazing and the kitchen is well equipped. You can see the ocean from every window in the house. The pictures truly don't do it justice.
Thanks for your glowing review. And thanks for staying at mi cases. Please come again.
I love the whole experience at Casa Diggs! The host, Peter, responded to my inquiries quickly and made sure everything well arranged before my trip. He made me feel so welcomed before I even stepped out of my own house! The view at Casa Diggs was amazing; tranquility and relaxation I got from this place were priceless. Property Manager Judy made sure our stay there was nothing but the best ever experience! The cool ocean breeze, the sounds of crushing waves ; this place is so spacious and full of charm!
Pictures don't do this place justice! I've been coming to Cabo regularly for 11 years, and this place and the area it's in are my new fave place to stay.
The area is only 45 minutes away from downtown Cabo San Lucas, on the edge of incorporated San Jose developments, far enough away from the hustle of San Lucas that it's really quiet and peaceful. The road leading to this area is unfortunately filled with terrible potholes, so renting a Jeep or other SUV with large tires would be a huge plus if you plan to go back and forth between here and San Jose or San Lucas. The awful roads, however, do a great job keeping the rifraff from this area. There are miles and miles of nearly empty beaches to explore, great for swimming and surfing. The peace and quiet are wonderful.
The house itself is a beautiful private hideway, with outstanding views of the ocean. Sunrises can be viewed each morning from the master bedroom, and you can hear the surf as you fall asleep and when you wake. The house is "off the grid", and runs on batteries powered by solar panels and a very powerful propane generator. Water is brought in by truck to a onsite tank, the hot water is very hot, and the stove is propane powered. If you are considerate of your power usage, you won't have to use the generator. However, the generator is required to run the mini-split A/C units; if you are someone who needs A/C, this house probably isn't for you. The fresh air breezes coming off the ocean were enough for us except a few unseasonal humid evenings.
The house has an enormous kitchen/living room common area, an excellent pool and pool deck, and a second bedroom "casita" that would be great for small children but is considerably smaller than the master suite. There is a stereo system with speakers throughout the property, including outside on the pool deck, so we could play tunes throughout the day.
There is a great beach that is 5 minutes walk from the house, along with an excellent bar and grill "Buzzards", that is a popular place for locals to eat and have drinks. Besides that, there is Zak's about 20 minutes east, Flora Farms about 15 minutes back to San Jose, and then all of San Jose within 20 minutes from there. We stopped at the Mega on the way from the airport and picked up all our food and drinks for the house very cheaply.
Judy is the owner's property manager; she lives across the street and met us at the property to give us the tour and teach us how everything worked. She lives in Cabo full-time and is very responsive to anything you need.
Overall, I highly recommend this place and hope to stay again!
I don't think we could have found a more perfect place to spend our vacation. Beautiful home with beautiful views and the sound of the ocean to wake up to in the morning.
