Michael's apartament is located in a family friendly, green, modern area of Warsaw. Not in the center but easy to reach by the metro. The neighborhood provides many ships, cafes, restaurants (I especially recommend Italian "Basilia" on the other side of the KEN avenue) and a big Tesco Hypermarket. The flat is just a minute walk away from the metro station and the metro is amazing (trains every 2 minutes until the late evening). The apartment is in a good, modern standard and provides you a studio with kitchen nieche and a bathroom
With a big bathtub. The sofa is really comfortable and it's generally quiet and a nice atmosphere.
The kitchen is well equipped. You will find a watching machine and even a dish washer. The facilities are not new but mostly work fine.
Extras I found: doorbell with cameras
Security at the entrance of the building
Gym+Spa on the ground floor (external provider, to be purchased additionally)
Garage in the basement
Generally I can fully recommend Michael's apartment, you will feel comfortable.
Michal made us feel very welcome. Straightforward to arrange arrival and leaving, and allowed us to drop bags as we arrived early on first day.
We were a family of 2 adults and 3 boys ages 9,12,14. It was our first time in Warsaw.
Flat is very well located in a quiet street and easy 10min walk to the Old Town/ Royal Palace (to the north) and similar to the Nowy Swiat area to the south-west. (5mins to the Copernicus Science Centre (to the east) which our boys really enjoyed; do make sure you book it online. We would not have got in otherwise. )
There is a small Carrefour express around the corner; plenty of choice if you were self catering, or just for odds and ends and breakfast items. We also used the slightly larger one next to the Harenda Hotel on the way 'home' once too; is only then 5mins walk back to the apt.
There are a few restaurants locally. A 'deli' and a small Italian (both seemed very popular) in the same street as apt., plus three others (larger Italian, 2 coffee/sandwich shops) within 3mins walk. We chose some others elsewhere generally from Lonely Planet/ Tripadvisor. After eating out, was a pleasant walk back down Obozna street (adjacent to University) to the apartment area.
Michal was able to put a small extra bed in one room, so we had all our boys there and avoided using the sofabed. To clarify from the photos, the kitchen is separate from the lounge. The layout was practical and beds comfy.
Apartment is modern, warm (we went in October), was ideal for us. Windows all double-glazed and can open a little (tilt-from-top), or be swung open wider from main hinges if needed. Shower is a hand-held, to be used in the bath rather than standing in a cubicle- should be clear from photo.
Minor niggle was some renovation work being done to the building exterior which started around 7am some mornings, but presumably this won't last too (website hidden) had many cable channels, some of which could be set to 'English' rather than 'Polish' audio setting, but most were just in Polish. Not that we were there to watch TV.
WiFi worked very well.
We considered an apartment on Novy Swiat, but we were glad to be here instead as it was a good base to walk from and away from the normal city-centre tourist areas. We took some buses to see some sights further out of town, but these were easy from the stops near the old town and Nowy Swiat. Area felt safe to the extent one can tell.
The flat was very nice. It was clean, equipped with all I needed and it’s very close to metro station. Michal is a great, friendly host.
Michal was very helpful and accommodating, he assisted me with a last minute change in plans.
The unit is in a good area, though it is two floors above a workout gym. There was a futon sofa/bed and minimal furniture. No real complaints, it is as pictured, a shower curtain would be welcomed and the furniture is showing age.
I am adding a comment as to the darkness of bedrooms for those who may need to sleep past sunrise. Like most, the window shades in this unit are merely for privacy and do little to block the bright sunlight that floods in the big windows. This is not a complaint, just a note.
A clean, basic studio to lay your head.
I really had a lovely stay in this studio! It is very well located in a quiet and "chic" area of Warsaw at only 20 min from the city center. You can find whatever you want around (supermarket, nice coffee places, bars, sushis restaurant, Italian restaurant etc... ) and it is very well furnished (television, wifi, microwave, wash machine, air Con) as well! Besides, Michal is a really nice landlord! I would recommend this studio for every person who wants to stay in Warsaw either for a short or for a long stay.
This apartment is large, spacious, and in a great part of Warsaw. It's near the university library and Copernicus Science Centre. There are several great cafes and restaurants right near by, (including a vegan / vegetarian one!), and a good shop for groceries on the corner. Buses are easy to catch on the next street. It's a green area with parks, near the river, and if you have kids, there are several playgrounds nearby as well. It's about a 15 minute walk to the Old Town, with preschoolers in tow :-).
The apartment itself is a great size for a family and is comfortably furnished. The kitchen is complete and also has a dishwasher. There is a washing machine and a really great, large bathtub. There is an elevator in the building and two short stairs to access it. Our daughter uses a wheelchair, and we had no troubles at all. However, a power wheelchair would need a temporary ramp for those two stairs in the lobby.
Our host was very easy to contact and speaks good English. He was very welcoming and had left some toys in the apartment for the kids - which was very appreciated! We had some issues with renovation construction on the building that increased during our time there. However, even though Michal was on vacation himself, we were able to stay in contact and resolve any issues.
I highly recommend this apartment and Michal as a host!
Michal and his family were great guests, very friendly, easy going, we had great communication between us and they left the apartament clean and in good condition. 100% reccomendation!
Michal and his lovely family have been great guests and I hope to see them again soon in sunny french Riviera :-)
Michal is always smiling and enthusiastic, and his nice little family is very pleasant. They were very good guests.
Michała znam od dawna. Mieszkanie, ma świetną lokalizację i jest bardzo porządnie urządzone.
Podróżuje najczęściej z żona i swoimi dwiema uroczymi córkami.
We have spent the best holiday with Michal & his family. I can recommend travelling with them and hosting them :)
