Don made us feel very welcome. He talked to us at length as to how to find our way into town for dinner and breakfast. The room was lovely with a fairly big en-suite. The location is really good in a lovely older, very quiet part of Kelowna, right on the lake but only a short walk to some great restaurants. We wanted some different bedding and he was more than accommodating as well as giving us a fan (that we didn't ask for) as it was quite warm. Great value for money.
The proximity to the water and beach was a pleasant surprise, and the neighborhood is very charming.
The room was somewhat dated (mid 1980's) and a bit cluttered with fairly large furniture (very full!) but clean and in good repair overall.
Our hosts were mostly friendly and engaging, but didn't go out of there way. The house and our suite was pink, pink, pink. Wow. There was a fridge, microwave and dishes to help with snacks and a quick instant oatmeal breakfast. $10 per person extra for breakfast seemed like quite a bit - so we passed on that.
It looked as though every square inch of the home was in use (rented, storage or busy!) but we didn't really trip over anyone. The front hard had some seating areas, but there were somewhat overgrown and not overly comfortable. This was the only outside space - so plan on just getting a decent room, but not a lot of amenities outside of that.
Everything from the coffee maker to the tv worked well - except that we didn't seem to get very many channels.
We did have a misunderstanding on checkout time that caused some friction. We returned promptly from our event to be told that checkout was strictly observed and that our information was wrong. It's a good idea to double check that stuff to avoid conflict.
Overall we had a comfortable stay. We were left with the impression that this is a busy little house that provides an important source of income for Don and his wife who operate it. It seemed to be run slightly more as a business compared to many other BnB's we've stayed at from coast to coast - but wasn't a detractor. Everyone needs to make a fair income, and Don, his wife and the Pink house offered us good value overall.
I liked this place a lot. Glad we found it in the last moment for a trip to Kelowna. I'm sure this place is wonderful in winter. It's a bit if a drive from Kelowna city. But it was clean and very private. Don was wonderful and his service was great. I'm considering going there for a skiing trip.
Great neighbourhood for downtown walkabout, restaurants, coffee shops, beach, parks, etc. Nicely kept older neighbourhood. Hosts very accommodating. Overall thumbs up.
Great location, just steps from the beach. It was perfect for us as we were participating in Across the Lake swim so we did not have to go far as well as we could walk downtown and not worry about driving. Room is small but good for 2 people. The room was a bit outdated and the bed was springy, but reasonable. It was mainly clean but was surprised to find popcorn pieces under the bed when we checked out. The price could be a bit lower for what is offered but overall it was reasonable especially since you have your own private bathroom and close to the lake.
Communication was great, response was timely and very welcoming. We forgot our personal pillow and they initiated communication to come retrieve it.
Great little spot. So close to the beach and comfy for 1 person. Definitely will be back.
Nice small room in a good location. You can easily walk to the beach or downtown in just a few minutes. The house is on a lovely quiet road so peace and quiet are great when you get in.
Breakfast is not included but you have a fridge and coffee maker in the room.
Clean and comfortable. In-room bathroom (not ensuite). Just fine for me alone, may be a little bit tight for a couple. Make your own coffee in room -- breakfast is actually an extra cost.
The location was very convenient in terms of access to the water, the bridge leading into and out of town, to downtown and walkways along the shoreline, restaurants, Knox Mt., etc, and only a few minutes drive to the Center I was attending classes. Very quiet, perfect for just crashing for the night and being out and about all day. There is a very small fridge in the room to keep food cool, the space was clean, very well heated in March, the small shower and toilet is in the corner of the room. Lots of drawers for storage, a microwave and a tea kettle in front of the door to the room with a table where one person can eat if necessary. There is no access to a kitchen, best to go out for meals. Don was very kind and helpful in making things work. He even mailed me important documentations I left behind. Thank you Don!
