Not for people with a child unless you book all cottages. Not only the host forgot that we are coming (lack of bedding) and was not answering our calls, but after solving this stressing situation it occurred that our little one should sleep on the floor without mosquito net.
I do not know a parent who would feel good sleeping on the bed (email hidden) when his child is not provided with it... Next night we prepared a place for her in the cabana "suitable for the child". But the bench there is so narrow she has fallen from it on the floor.
And we had constant problems with warm water.
This stay was a total disaster.
Francesco is a very considerate host; he offers a homely appartment (the outdoor-shower ist just great) with a beautiful view in a pleasant neighborhood. I liked the area around Paia/Haiku; it was a very relaxing stay.
The reservation was canceled 5 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
My wife and I were lucky enough to book this place when we landed on Maui. Francesco was very accommodating towards us, even provided coffee.
The pros: unique style of outdoor living when you're in Maui. Feels like camping but with a twist. Access to full kitchen. Away from the city but close enough to the town of Paia. Near the start of road to Hana.
The cons: feels like your camping. If you are someone who is afraid of bugs.. spiders, mosquitoes, slugs etc...then this is not for you! Keep a flashlight handy for nightly restroom visits since restroom is in a another hut. Its secluded. No TV or Internet.
Overall great experiences! Gave us the opportunity to get away from it all!
We really enjoyed our stay ,the location was terrific, and we enjoyed the view, you can actually see the ocean from bed.Francesco and his family are right next door , but you'd hardly notice, it was a very peaceful property. We enjoyed the internet connection, there was ample bandwidth to catch a few Netflix on the smartphone late-night. Most of all, the price was well within our budget. Side note, totally not related, but do not rent a car from Kimos car rental .
This was an excellent place to stay! I stayed for a total of 13 nights, Francesco and his family were next door but you barely knew they were there. There were ocean views and a small camp style kitchen set-up that was an excellent bonus. I highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a great deal up country with close access to Paia and Makawao.
The Skygarden Village was quite amazing. The cottages are gorgeous and very comfortable. The kitchen is very spacious and has pretty much everything you need to cook your own meals. The bathroom which had a fantastic shower was wonderful as well. We had a lot of rain when during our stay so we didn't get to experience the land around the village but it looked beautiful upon our sunny arrival. I would definitely recommend staying here, it is perfect for everything you may need. The closest town also has everything you need; bars, restaurants, markets...etc.
The location is removed from amenities but makes up for it with a great view of the stars at night. The room we stayed in was good but could use a lock on the door for piece of mind. The kitchen was more than adequate and it was cool showering in a semi outdoor setting. He could use a BBQ as the one there was a old broken one using coals and some outdoor chairs that are comfortable. Francesco set up another bed on the floor to accommodate another guest which was adequate. Overall It was ok for the price.
Had a wonderful visit at the sky garden. It is serious glorified camping. You are very much outdoors, but with all the comforts of home. The bed was comfortable, and the bathhouse was lovely, but I think we enjoyed the kitchen the best. We cooked several wonderful meals there. There were several other people staying here while we were there, but seemed to be plenty of privacy. The only negative thing we ran into was a lot of mosquitos. I guess it was that time of year and they love me. I would definitely recommend the sky garden for a quiet peaceful get away.
Perfect Place to escape from the busy City life.
Good location on the northern part of the island, easy drive to the ocean and the village of paia, with some excellent restaurants.
Michelle was a great host, enjoyed ever second at the place and on the beautiful island of Maui!
Francesco and his lovely family stayed at my home while visiting San Francisco. They were very personable and friendly. Francesco generously offered to help troubleshoot some items that needed repair around my house. I am a very child friendly household...however, do note, cesare their 2 year old son can be noisy..as children are. I have no reservations recommending them.
