My husband, Kevin and I are retired. He was a principal for 35 years and I was a high school environmental science teacher for 32 years. I retired young, (55) because there is a lot of life to live while you are in good health! We are financially stable and were blessed to be able to retire at an early age. We have 3 unique children, one daughter who lives in Austin, a son who lives in Fairmont, WV, and another son who lives 10 min. from us. We also have two lovely granddaughters and one grandson. We volunteer for various organizations and also love to travel. Usually, we travel to Florida and Hilton Head, SC in Jan-Feb. Since we live in a snowy city, it's nice to be able to travel to warmer climates now that we are retired! Five things I can't live without----my Lord God, my family, yoga and fitness routines, my kayak and a favorite book! I am in a book club with 11 other women who also retired from the same school district. My most fav travel destination was the Amazon, in Peru. I went there 5 years ago and spent 12 days in the Amazon jungle with other teachers from around the world! It was the most awesome experience! I am an Army "brat" and lived in many places--Fort Hood, Tx, Fort Bragg, NC, and Kaiserslautern, Germany. I adapt to new situations easily, since as a child, I've always had to make friends every few years and leave them. We are very good guests--respectful of others, quiet, neat and polite. We love to meet new people--young and old! Life is a journey and wonderful experience if you aren't too rigid with it! We look forward to meeting new folks with airbnb!
