A wonderful apartment in a great location! I could not have had a better experience --- the apartment is bright, beautiful, and relaxing. All the arrangements were easy and reliable and it became a delightful home away from home. Thank you very much for sharing your fantastic apartment -- it is a special place and I appreciate being able to stay there.
This lovely apartment is exactly what it says, lovely! The location couldn't be better, especially if you have a student at Brown or RISD. I also thought it generous of the hosts to say, "help yourself to anything in the pantry." The bed was comfy, the apt meticulously clean, and plenty of room for another person to share. Staying in this lovely apartment, while visiting my daughter, made me feel like I had a place to call home.
Helen's lovely apartment was fantastic and the place was exactly as described. It was clean, bright and very cute! The location was perfect. It was very close to Whole Foods market and to very good restaurants and cafés in Wayland Square. We stayed while my daughters were taking Summer classes at RISD and were very happy to walk to class everyday.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the "lovely apartment on the east side!" It was clean, comfortable, and had all the amenities we needed for our one week stay. Helen and Eske's modern furnishings, colors and beautiful hardwood floors are pleasing especially in the summer. The weather was beautiful and comfortable during our stay (70's); the breezes from open windows were all we needed to keep us cool and comfortable. The location was perfect: I walked to beautiful Blackstone park, cafes and restaurants on Angell St! Had a fantastic dinner at Gracie's restaurant on Washington St. in downtown Providence. All in all a great week. I hope to rent again the next time I'm in Providence.
A wonderful, arty home in a great location.
My friend & i spent New Years in Providence & choose Helen's apt. vs. a hotel. The apartment itself is extremely comfortable and spacious. Everything my friend and i needed to feel at home was readily available. The beds were cozy, the kitchen was great (we love to cook), & there's a fireplace! It was just such a lovely experience for both of us. We were able to be relax& zen out.
The location itself was ideal for two New Yorkers who love to be outside, walk around and enjoy the beauty Providence had to offer or just walk down to Wickenden St. for brunch. After a long day of being outside, nothing felt better than knowing that we were going back to Helen's cozy apartment.
This was our first Airbnb experience.I'll admit that at first we were hesitant, but Helen was very good at guiding me through the booking process. We were both so happy and grateful with our experience & look forward to staying there again should we need to.
My husband, son and I stayed at Helen's apartment for a long weekend while she was on holiday. The apartment was wonderful, conveniently located, and bigger than we had imagined from the pictures. It was bright and clean and reflective of her conscientious lifestyle -- urban, green and intellectual. There were books in every room. The beds were comfortable and the sheets were cotton. We couldn't have asked for more. We give Helen's apartment our highest recommendation.
It isn't often that you enter a space of someone that you don't know and feel as though you lived there yourself - Helen and Eske's sense of design and aesthetic pervades.... their dwelling is not, regretfully, the reality of my own living space, but fulfills my aspirations to one day inhabit a 'dwell' lifestyle such as this. As I pulled out my burnt orange hotel slippers from my suitcase and watched them fuse with the complementary colors of the interior, or, when I scanned their amazing collection of literature, poetry, theory and music, I thought to myself, "I could live here right now".
As it happened, I had lunch with a colleague while I was there in Providence and mentioned this special space whose owners I knew not, but appreciated their way of life. She exclaimed, "Helen Koh" - she is a dear friend of mine!"
Of all my airbnb experiences, this tops it as one of the best stays I've had. Coordination of key with neighbor worked out well; immaculately clean and well-provided for overnight accommodations (towels, etc), a well-equipped kitchen and bath, mindful of non-toxic, sustainable living....also, a sweet private balcony for late night star-seating. Plenty of off-street parking in back of this lovely 3 floor mansion....but a few blocks from Whole Foods Market and the charming Wickendon college district full of shops and cafés - it doesn't get much better than this.
Helen's flat was amazing! We loved the mid-century modern furniture and fun pillows strewn about and the bed was extremely comfortable. The place was very clean and tidy. We loved coming back to the flat after a long day walking around the city. Helen even left us a restaurant guide and a map to help navigate the city - she was a perfect host.
This was our first Airbnb experience and we look forward to using this service again in the future. Hopefully all our stays can be as wonderful as this one!
Eske and Helen were great guests. They were respectful to the apartment, watered our plants, emptied the trash and left the apartment in a perfect state. They were communicative and it was a real pleasure to host them! We'd definately recommend them and weould love to have them back.
Helen was a great guest. She left our apartment in an excellent condition. Would love to host her again.
Unfortunately, I never got to meet Helen & her husband but she was very open & friendly during our communication and left my apartment in tip-top shape. I would welcome them back anytime!
Helen was a fantastic, laid back guest who welcomed us back to a spotless apartment full of happy house plants. It was an absolute pleasure sharing our home with Helen.
Helen and Eske were great guests. I didn't see them much, but they were very polite and friendly.
I would be very happy to have Helen and her husband stay in my place again in the future.
