I'm interested in travel, internationally, and on a budget. My wife and I vacation together usually, but she is a high school teacher and I'm a Lutheran Pastor, so her "off" time is the summer when rates are $$$$ and when I am taking kids off to summer adventures and camps. This means for me to use all my vacation time, I either have to "stay-cation" at home or take off on my own. I'd like to avail myself of the "shoulder seasons" for personal enrichment, but that's always her busiest times in school. So, looking at options where I can meet locals and learn cultures. I was a humanity major in college, love learning, eclectic tastes in music, art, and literature. I'm an introvert by nature, but love hanging out in public spaces to people watch and learn by observation. Healthy, love to walk, and hope to continue hiking and exploring in either natural or urban environments. I'm a good and creative cook, love the personal challenge of staring into a refrigerator and assembling a meal from whatever is available and would cook for room break. :) Life Motto from Historian Mary Beard: "Action without study is fatal. Study without action is futile."
