This property has been in Anne's family since 1911. It was originally purchased by two of her great Aunts who lived in San Francisco and would come up for holidays on the train. It was completely remodeled in 2011.

We had a very relaxing and enjoyable trip to the Bird's Nest. The house itself is great and well stocked and appointed and the location is wonderful. The views are great and it was startlingly quiet which we enjoyed immensely. We will almost certainly return.
Very nice place to stay that's out of the city! I forgot how quiet and dark it can get at night, very well stocked and cozy home with ample heating for chilly nights.
Cell service was near zero but wifi was strong in the main area and fast 150x20. Short drive to occidental for wine, brunch and dinner. Good neighborhood hiking near the st Dorothy's campgrounds.
Great outdoor porch seating with privacy curtains as well.
All said we would definitely stay here again for a weekend getaway from the noise and lights of San Francisco.
You are welcome back any time, please come again!
A beautiful vacation home that we thoroughly enjoyed. Located on a hillside in Occidental, with great views of tree tops and nature. Quiet while celebrating the gift of birds flying around. Our 2 year old dog loved all the space he had inside. Ideal for families and couples. Clean, cozy, welcoming, well designed home, clearly a lot of thought put into it. Not far from Sonoma's wine country and swimming holes along the Russian River.
We wish you back any time! Please visit again soon!
The Bird's Nest in Camp Meeker is fantastic. It is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The kitchen is large and filled with top of the line appliances that make you want to cook and enjoy a fantastic meal. There is so much to see and do in the region as well - even in the rain!
Come back any time, we loved hosting you!
What a beautiful home. We had a terrific weekend and loved all the nice touches (champaign etc). The area is just beautiful, even when it's a bit foggy.
The Bird's Nest was a beautiful space for a weekend retreat. The inside is quite cozy and they have updated kitchen appliances if you are interested in cooking your meals. Easy access to different redwoods spots as well as nice small wineries in the area. The upstairs room is the entire second floor and has its own deck, however, there is not a real door separating it from the main area, so keep that in mind if you are with a loud group or are looking for privacy. I would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a quick getaway from SF, and I hope to go back in the summer when we can take advantage of the Russian River!
Thanks Veena! You and your friends are welcome back any time! Book now, summer fills up quickly:-)
A relaxing, beautiful getaway! My friends and I enjoyed a peaceful New Years Eve cooking and eating together. There was enough space for two couples so that we could all do our own thing: sit on the deck or read by the sweet little fireplace. The view of the trees is incredible. Kandi was so helpful and made herself available for questions. The place is so clean and well kept and the kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, and oils/spices, etc. The Bird's Nest was the best place to spend the start of the new year! Hope to visit again!
Thanks Tiffany! You were wonderful guests and we hope you will come back again. It was a pleasure!
Host was great very secluded and lovely home. Had a great time very much enjoyed our stay.
This was my first experience booking through Airbnb and it was easy and painless. The cabin we selected was perfectly suited to explore the Russian River area. Cute, charming, and impeccably clean, it is situated in a grove of redwood trees, giving shade. Perfect for us, as we wanted someplace which felt like "home" and "fall" to use over Thanksgiving. The kitchen/dining area has a great view. While there are neighbors nearby, as this sits on a hill, no one has direct access into the cabin.
Not only was the venue lovely, but the agent who handled arrangements was friendly, helpful, and very conscious. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Thank you for the great review!! Please do come back soon!
We had a wonderful experience at The Bird's Nest. Our only regret is that we did not have more time to spend hanging around the house.
