If you are looking for a place to "lay your head" while you explore the sights of Manhattan, then Kwame's place is the place for you. The location is superb; just a few blocks away from Grand Central station.
Kwame was very accommodating with both check-in and check-out time. If you are looking for a responsive host, Kwame is definitely your guy.
Kwame's apartment is great. It had everything I needed, and is in a great location. Thanks Kwame!
It was a good choice for me, so close to the 2nd avenue with many facilities around and subway in the 42th street. I stayed alone the whole last week without any problem. The room is in the 13th floor, very silent with a good view. It could be improved a little bit, but everything worked. The bed is comfortable and you can have a good shower. The building is old but seems to be well maintained. Local people was friendly as well as Kwame. He quickly answered my messages and showed to be available for any assistance. I certainly would stay at this studio again in a next trip to NY.
No problems at all - a basic but clean studio in a perfect location for me. All comms handled by SMS and a couple of calls - Kwame answered questions quickly and efficiently - very much a recommended host.
Kwame was very professional and the apartment was in a great location. The bathroom was clean and everything was where I expected it to be. Although there were a couple of things that weren't 100% clean they can be easily rectified.
Not the perfect experience but the location helped me get around...
This was my first airbnb experience. It went so well, I may never use a hotel again.
The host couldn't have been more responsive. I'd email or text a question--before and during the stay--and in minutes I'd have an answer. The answers couldn't have been more accommodating.
The studio is in a nice building half a mile from Grand Central with a great view of the East River and lower First Avenue. The building is older, meaning walls are thick, and so there's absolutely no noise from neighbors. Restaurants, drug stores, produce, and groceries are all a block or two away. There are even a couple of little shops downstairs.
The studio is spacious. The closet space was ample and then some, with lots of hangers. Some studios can be cluttered because so much is squeezed into a small space. Here, if anything, you'd wish for a little more stuff. There was no chair, for example--making it impossible to eat at a table.
The place could have used an ironing board, and the kitchen could have used a few plates and bowls. There were none, but there was a pot, a pan, glasses, cups, and eating utensils. And a microwave, a hot plate, two fridges. And an iron.
Everything worked. The stoppers in the sink and bathtub drains were a small exception, understandable in an older building.
Next time I'm looking for a crash space in Manhattan, this is the first place I'll try.
location, location, location. kwame's studio is perfectly-located to all things manhattan - trains, buses, restaurants, supermarkets, nail salons, etc. the doormen are kind and helpful, and there's a little market that's open until late in the lobby for last-minute items. i found kwame himself to be a fantastic 'host' - quick to check that all is well and immediately available for any questions or issues that may come up. the place was perfect for my needs - basically a place to come home to at night to check my email (wi-fi!), (website hidden) with my family, and sleep (comfortable bed) before setting off the next morning. the view is lovely, too.
It is perhaps the best deal one could get for a location like This in NY. well maintianed building, clean room with view of hudon river, a small but nice park in fromt of the building and a fantastic gym (no additional charges!). An ideal place for those who are on short mission to the UN! kwame was quick in responding to my quriers and when i met him briefly I found him very pleasent and helpful.
I travle for bussiness often to NY and this is the sedond time I am using airb&b . Will certainly go back to Kwame's studio next time I am in NY.
