Bonnie and Isaac were great. We had a nice stay for the weekend. The apartment was perfect for the 4 of us. It was clean, had exactly what we needed, and was a very short walk from the downtown area. The bottled water and cereal boxes were a nice touch too.
My husband and I stayed here for almost three months while my husband had a short contract at a nursing home out there. It is much bigger than it looks in pictures and was very comfortable for three months. The house is well furnished and has everything you would need. It's centrally located in Cumberland and walking distance to the downtown area. Bonnie and Isaac were always available if we needed anything. I would recommend staying here.
We had a great stay! Superb location if you're there to visit the train station and downtown - all within walking distance. The beds are super comfortable, and the noise is minimal, considering it's right by the freeway. The place is clean, warm and cozy.
Beth and Isaac were exceedingly accommodating; we had 3 adults, 4 kiddos and the dog. They also let us check in early because a big snow storm was coming. They were available by text and checked in with us a few times.
Downsides: There's not much of a view anywhere, it can feel a little closed in. Also the kitchen is very sparsely equipped. Everything you need for the basics, but cooking a Thanksgiving meal required we bring some of our own equipment, and we still had to get creative! There's no dishwasher, which is something to consider if you're bottle feeding. Also, there is a huge flight of stairs leading to the main living space - a precaution for toddlers.
Overall, would recommend!
We enjoyed the apartment and Bonnie and Isaac were very responsive and welcoming. The apartment was great and worked well for my parents, my wife and I, and our three kids (they slept in sleeping bags on the carpeted floor which was expected and perfect).
Easy travel distance to restaurants and the train station (we were there for the Cumberland Railroad steam engine trip).
Excellent time was had at Isaac and Bonnie's. Everything was exactly as described in the listing. Apartment was very clean and well kept and made us feel very at home. Very central location to all the good stuff in town. Overall, they were amazing hosts and our experience could not have been better. Thanks again Bonnie and Isaac, hope to be back soon.
We found the apt to be extremely charming, welcoming, and fully equipped. The neighborhood itself was charming. We couldn't have asked for anything more accommodating.
We enjoyed our holiday in Isaac and Bonnie's large, comfy, walk-up apartment. The rooms were just as we anticipated and our hosts' prompt attentive communication made us feel very welcome. There was ample on-street parking within a block of the apartment. The Great Allegheny Passage and C&O Canal trails are a short, pleasant walk from the apartment, as are Café Mark for breakfast or El Jinete for good Mexican food. Bonnie and Isaac's apartment makes a great base for a walking or cycling holiday. We also enjoyed their selection of books in the front bedroom and the nice selection of literature on local attractions in the living room.
The host was great and quick to respond to our questions via e-mail. The neighborhood was ok, a bit commercial. We had our two dogs with us and did not have any problems walking them at night. We were just around the corner from the city center and some really nice restaurants. The apartment was very clean and cozy. I was concerned about being close to the highway but it was not a big deal. We were mostly in the apartment at night and not much traffic. We had a wonderful weekend of hiking and relaxation.
We needed a place to stay for just one night in Cumberland, Bonnie and Isaac place was very nice, clean, and welcoming. When we walked in everyone commented on how cute the apartment was!
Bonnie and Isaac made sure we had enough towels and left us coffee and basic food items for our early exit the next day. We loved the warm shower with tons of pressure!
Very comfortable apartment, great place to stay in Cumberland. Walking distance from main attractions in town, including the Western Maryland scenic railroad. The neighborhood is a little depressed but we didn't feel unsafe. The highway is right behind the apartment so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. I found that the AC mostly drowned out any noise. We enjoyed our stay. Made coffee and breakfast each morning, felt very much at home.
