Hey, I’m Lisa!

Franklin, Massachusetts, United States · Member since July 2012

I am an intrepid and frequent traveler who loves trying new things and going to new places, although most of my life I've traveled in Europe. I'm most familiar with Germany and speak German. In the U.S., I've traveled to large cities, all up and down the East Coast, and to the West Coast. The middle of America remains, at this point, a mystery to me (in more ways than one). In Canada, I've visited Ontario and Quebec. I love to travel with my grown up daughters Annie and Sophie when they are available. They are also world traveled! My son Peter has just moved to LA so I hope I can visit him there. I also travel alone or with my live-in boyfriend, Keith.

I like the outdoors, parks, art museums, films, window-shopping, bookstores, and affordable dining. I'm a writer who has taught English and edited both magazines and books. I'm also a tutor and a writing coach.

No matter where I go, I sample the ice cream frequently, and cannot live without a good cup of coffee ... or six.. I either bring or borrow a hairdryer. I hate humid sticky weather but give me a good snowstorm anytime! Some of the best places I've stayed through Airbnb have been tiny but cleverly decorated. I like my independence but some good tips upon arrival are always appreciated!

I'm a respectful guest and leave your apartment as tidy as when I got there. My one issue is that I never get anywhere on time. I hope you can forgive me that ...

My life motto, which this site suggests I provide, is: "Be the change you want to see in the world." I hope I am doing that every day. I also believe in living in the moment. It's all we have.

I look forward to meeting you!
