John has a very nice modern apartment which is spacious and offers a nice kitchen and laundrynette. The managing team of the apartment complex is very friendly and helpful. Also John kept in touch with us in order to ask if we needed any further assistence without disturbing us. Note that there is free public transport and this place is a close hop to a lot of other interesting sites downtown!
The listing was accurate. The location was as described. The ambience of the building was appreciated. A great renovation. As Australian our first wander down Eutlaw street was interesting. We felt safe at all times but we were certainly looked at! The next day walking into Mount Vernin was a very different experience.
Great apartment in a great location. Walking distance to a variety of good restaurants and pubs, as well as public transportation.
Extremely clean and well maintained. Had every convenience we needed. However, would have liked to have had more sports channels on the tv. But, was able to catch most of the bowl games and playoff games on the tv in the common area downstairs.
Would stay here again and recommend to friends.
Stayed in John's lovely and quiet place for two nights with my partner and our two daughters (7&11). It was an outstanding experience. The apartment has all the comfort of a four-star hotel but includes a fully equipped kitchen and in-suite laundry facilities. We loved the Keurig coffee machine and the provided coffee pods. Secure parking is also a benefit. We will be back!
It was a very nice experience. Every person at the front desk was knowledgeable and friendly. They made us feel quite welcome. The unit was nicely appointed and very clean. We will be back again.
Staying at John's apartment was incredibly easy. The check in was smooth, there was plenty to do in the area, and John was a great host. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
John's apartment was the perfect home base for me, my husband and our 10 month old baby as we visited family all over the Baltimore and DC area. Very clean, good stock of cleaning and home supplies, great magazines and books, wifi, and a very sweet front desk staff all made our stay very comfortable. John is a great communicator and made sure all was okay at our arrival. We will be sure to stay there again on our next visit. P.s. Trinacria cafe is a nice bonus just down the street!
This was the second time my wife and I stayed in John's great place in the heart of Baltimore. We chose to return there after our first visit earlier this year. John's place is in a great location, secure, has parking included, someone (friendly!) at the door 24 hours -- and the price can't be beat. His place is immaculate and fully equipped with kitchen, washer-dryer and even toiletries. And John is very communicative and responsive to any questions. So much better than a hotel room. We go to Baltimore often, and will stay here again any time it is available.
This was a nice apartment. Nice amenities and touches.
Laundry was in the apartment and worked well.
Everyone I saw at the 24-hour front desk/security was very friendly. Thanks for greeting us warmly Ms Ros (I think that was her name).
Stove was good and I used the tea kettle to boil water every day, which was nice. The bed was comfortable.
Awesome soul food restaurant (Vegan!) a couple blocks away.
The neighborhood is run down, at least nearby. Next door is a burnt out large building that looks like it has been that way a while. Nearby are a lot of closed and boarded up buildings.
The mass transit options are many but most are many blocks away. Cabs will drop you off in the area, but you won't find any trolling nearby. The light rail is right outside the door - it is a single line, but very nice if your destination is on the line. The light rail does run to the airport.
I did a lot of stuff downtown and at the convention center and I mainly walked. My destinations were 3/4 mile to 1.5 miles away. It would have added 1/2 mile to avoided the most run down areas, but I didn't do this. I just took the direct route and walked back and forth - sometimes several times a day. It was fine for me. Another option - you can to walk 1/4 mile to 1/2 mile to get to various buses and then wait for them.
The one annoyance about the apartment was the lack of light in the bedroom. There are two bedside reading lights and that is it. There was not enough light to see or find clothes in the closet. Good thing I had a bright flashlight with me.
When the sun is up the apartment (and closet) has a lot of light but it was dark out in the morning and evening when I was getting clothes in and out of the closet so this was an issue.
My first time with airbnb, i am very happy when all will be like this experience! Simply a very good A-to-Z experience.
I've known John my whole life and he is undoubtedly one of the kindest
And most generous individuals I know.
We've traveled and dined together and we both share an intense curiosity about the world.
Always more to see, more to explore and eat and drink.
John is simply one of the best individuals I know in this world.
John is a great guy and his management team at the Chesapeake Commons is fantastic. We have lived here for 1.5 years and love the accommodations, friendly staff, and beautiful building. He created a SAFE and beautiful apartment building in the middle of downtown Baltimore - with charm and character. His staff are great and very helpful! I highly recommend staying where ever John hosts - you will not be disappointed.
